They knocked CC all over the yard last time, CJ Wilson is going to pitch well again, the Rangers just need to do what they did in game 1 and give him run support early.

How bout Josh Hamilton, is there a better story out there?

Thank goodness he was able to come back in time for the playoffs.

Dude is beastly. Like Pujols beastly, which is saying something.

i am borderline obsessed with the frenchy phenomenon. he is literally the worst regularly RF in history. and i say that having done lots of research. let me repeat, that is not an exaggeration. no RF has ever played as much as he had and been as bad. players as bad as him lose their jobs. but he has had a job for years. and the press still writes stories about him, because he is so nice to them. and everyone cheers for him and wishes him the best and thinks he is about to emerge from a slump. a slump that has been going on 3 thousand AB.

how is it possible that he plays in the big leagues? how? his career numbers are absolutely ATROCIOUS.

In what is essentially 5 1/2 seasons in the big leagues, let's look at his averages:

    18 homers, 73 Runs, 85 RBIs, .268 avg

We haven't even started to talk about one of the strongest arms in the outfield in the majors.

So yes, martin, he's the worst player in MLB history. :thumb:

How, oh how, does he keep a job with those ATROCIOUS numbers?

Way to over exaggerate there, pumpkin. This coming from one of the master exaggeraters on this board.

Can the Rangers close out in Texas? Hope so, then there will only be 2 teams that have never made it to the world series.

This is a serious over-reliance on "traditional" numbers to judge a player's worth. Let's dig a little deeper, shall we?

Jeff Francoeur Statistics and History - Baseball-Reference.com

Frenchy has a lifetime .310 OBP. To understand how putrid this is, consider that Juan Pierre has a .347. David Eckstein has a .345. He averages 32(!) walks over the course of a season. If that's not bad enough, he also strikes out nearly 4x for every walk.

But he must hit for some power, right? Um, no. He has a worse SLG (.425) than: Ichiro, Ty Wigginton, Eric Byrnes and 120 other active players.

He is offensive poison. He has zero plate discipline and has not hit more than 15 HR since 2006. You cannot pay this man $5 million to take up 600 ABs when you probably have two guys in your farm system who are way better at hitting. I disagree with Martin that he's the worst OF ever: but he is probably the worst regular OF in the MLB today, and probably the worst value relative to his salary. He. Is. Awful.

I agree that his defense is pretty good.

My Cardinals finally got their pitching in order, but their slump at the end was too much to over come, so my basbeall season ended with the regular season. With that said, I hope the Spankees never win another WS. Regardless of who wins the ALCS, the NL will be tough to beat in the WS.
