I didn't want to bomb the board with multiple threads, but here's what's going on in my head the past couple of days. 1.) What if this team improves? Are we looking at 10 wins? 11 wins? A trip to ATL? A BCS NC? 2.) I'm not a big fan of a 2 QB system, but maybe playing both takes a little pressure off each of them. I'd like to see Lee get the majority of the snaps, but JJ does his thing too. 3.) Would we be better off with PP not returning kicks? I mean, we have a damn strong defense. We have an unblockable D-Lineman, a tackling machine at MLB, and a lock down corner in PP. 4.) We're not throwing any love at the OLine. Our QB's have plenty of time to throw and we're averaging 180 yards or so per game rushing, and we have the SEC's leading rusher. We gotta give the O Line some credit, especially after the beating they took last year. 5.) Great job by Les and the coaches keeping the guys focused, motivated and away from the distractions. 6.) Les "could give a rats ass". :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I'll add one more to that: Are we witnessing the growing pains of a young team? It occured to me on my bike coming back from Gulf Shores this weekend that we do show flashes of a very potent offense. I know on paper we should be breaking the scoreboard with all the talent we have, but stupid mistakes always come at the wrong time. If we clean up the penalties and turnovers can we beat any team in the country with the offense we have? Oh and BTW I still want GC out!!!!!!!!!!! He gets no repreve from Me, I don't care how much better his play calling gets.
Obviously we will begin the BCS in the top 6 or 7, so if we win out against our brutal schedule, LSU will likely be in the BCS game. That's a huge IF, though. We are 6-0 with both cupcakes ahead of us, so we will finish 8-0 for sure. If we split Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss and Arkansas, we finish 10-2 and go to a major bowl game. It all depends on how many of our remaining SEC West opponents we can beat.
Our O-line played their best game by far. Having only one 5 yard penalty on the O-line was just what the doctor ordered. The holding was on the TE, and was bogus. The play calling was mixed nicely and we threw the ball downfield. The only thing I wish we could have improved on was the run selection being more on the edges than up the middle. Most of the carries up the middle went for little or no gain, which is Florida's strength on defense.
we said that on Friday, but Miles didnt listen. Also, there was a Mike Ford sighting and he looked pretty good.
UF isnt an easy D to run on. IMO up the gut is better than outside, they are just to fast... We did good. Ridley had 88 yards with 10+ called back from that holding call.... In all, UF was the best D we faced so far and the only thing that kept the game close was, ONCE AGAIN, LSU mistakes.... Much better effort by the team tough...
