If the oline is still banged up and we have to start freshmen and sophomores, gonna be a long night. Lots to heal up on both lines.
Tackling must improve. I would guess that this is not nearly thebest tackling defense we have had and its likely to be amongst the worse in the last 10 yrs.
Might just maybe have something to do with having just 1 good TE. Pettigrew and Moss are out. It's so bad we are using a WR Racey McMath as a TE. A TE is very important in the run game O ans E can't do what they would like with Moreau. Pettigrew especially was a hugh loss for us.
The passing offense is much improved IMO. Able to convert better on third and long and complete forward passes. I think Brosette needs to get more carries early and CEH more carries late. Brosette is surgical and CEH is a hammer.
Bama's strength on d are dline and lbers, why not go 4 and 5 wide to find a mismatch. Heck send 4 receivers to one side and see if we can go 1 on 1 to the other side. Again, bama's defense is set up to stop pro style attacks, we gotta do something different... maybe option or more roll out to let Super Joe run it for a few yards.
Just how do you come to this conclusion? You guys have been talking about your secondary and rightfully so. But, before you start labeling strengths and weaknesses and not including the secondary consider this--there's very little difference between the pass efficiency on defense with either team. And, if we just look at conference standings, Bama has faced tougher opposition from passing offense having played three of the top four. UGA comes in at six, and the rest of your SEC schedule (played to date) comes below that. If you want to bring in OOC play, there's little difference between Miami and Louisville. I believe there are very few here that have much of a grasp of what Bama is doing this year on either side of the ball. So, you're suggesting going five wide? So, five linemen and the QB in an empty set? Oh, please do so.
