The offense. Woof. 102nd out of 129 - and many of the bottom teams run the option. Click around this website if you want some depressing reality. I was willing to give Steve E a shot, despite his (lack of a) resume. The last time this man was a full-time OC was the 1998 Clemson Tigers. That team went 3-8 and all of the coaches were fired. LSU needs a real OC for 2019. Someone who didn't play in the 1970s, when 53% completion was pretty good.
I don't buy into the SEC conspiracy. In this case, for example, no way that ref could have expected to be able to have an opportunity to oust one of our players. It's like "payback calls" in baseball or softball. I don't buy that. Umpires never want to look bad and always want to make the right call. At least the ones I knew granted I was only in a High School Ass. When you have a bang bang play you aren't thinking about the last call/which team is sliding and which one is applying the tag all in a split second. I thought the Patrick Peterson call was terrible, (it was) as was the Dev White But the Dev White was not in a game vs Bama. To me, believing that call was made in an effort to affect the next game is a bit much but who knows.
i don’t blame the on field refs for the White call. game is moving fast, and they are taught to err on the side of targeting for anything close. so them throwing the flag is to be expected. that the review took less than a full minute to be “confirmed” is what makes it look suspicious. had the review been the typically long process and then announced as “stands” i wouldn’t be as upset. as that would say we looked, and it’s close, but by letter of the rule, we just can’t overturn this. but “confirmed” means that video unequivocally backs up the call. a quick “confirmed” means it was a blatantly obvious call. and this particular hit wasn’t a blatantly obvious target.
it’s not a conspiracy but it’s being on the wrong end of “questionable” too many times the sun shines on every dog’s ass sometimes and right now it’s bama’s turn but we’re not far off who knows we may go purdue on them
