LOL. Good thing for RR the scouts don't give a flip what McShay thinks. Nothing a great workout can't cure.
Also said the tape shows him not breaking off his routes when covered or when the play was busted which was every play. Scouts will look at that.
RR's best game of this season was when JJ was throwing to him. against Arkansas, RR had a season-best 134 yards on a season-best 9 receptions, and all 9 passes were thrown by JJ false. they were pretty much dead even between the two QBs. taking out the one completion that Mett had to RR vs Northwestern, this is how it breaks down (also keep in mind that JJ had to face the 3 toughest defenses LSU faced: Bama's #1 D and Georgia's #5 D): for the season, Lee threw 63% of the passes, while JJ only threw 37% Lee -- 167 att (63%) JJ -- 100 att (37%) now compare that to the % of catches RR had from each QB, and the percentages are pretty much dead even: total receptions for RR (taking out the one Mett threw) from Lee -- 32 rec (62%) from JJ -- 20 rec (38%) total TDs for RR from Lee -- 6 TD (75%) from JJ -- 2 TD (25%) -- if JJ had thrown 1 more, he'd have 34% total receptions over 10 yards for RR from Lee -- 18 (64%) from JJ -- 10 (36%) total receptions over 20 yards for RR from Lee -- 9 (64%) from JJ -- 5 (36%) total receptions over 30 yards from Lee -- 8 (73%) from JJ -- 3 (27%) -- if JJ had thrown 1 more, he'd have 34% total receptions over 40 yards from Lee -- 5 (71%) from JJ -- 2 (29%) -- if JJ had thrown 1 more, he'd have 38% total receptions over 50 yards for RR from Lee -- 1 (50%) from JJ -- 1 (50%) total receptions over 60 yards for RR none
I just hate to see RR get anxious and jump to the NFL right before our real pocket-passing QBs come on-line. Mett has the potential to have made RR a top 10 pick. Still, very deep at WR. Looking forward to watching Landry next season.
Randle is an awesome receiver. The other guys have more footage, but Randle is an untapped, top 10, top 5 talent in my opinion. If we were in a passing offense, then he wouldn't be coming back anyway. He has had a few easy drops, but he fights for the ball, runs by DB's consistently, catches with his hands, and you need about three people minimum to get him to the ground. The dude is 6'4.. With fluid hips, and the footwork of a scatback. Seeing him leave stinks, and boy I'd do all of his homework to get him to stay and increase his draft value by millions....But, to each his own. I wish him the best, and it's been a wild ride! My other two cents as follows...... Now, I am only 30, so I can't claim to be as wise as some of the other posters. But it's also frustrating to see them leave early, because I don't think it has sat in on them how quickly time passes. He thinks he's doing himself a favor, but if he stays. He'll blink, and the Tigers will be playing in Miami, with Mettengerger slinging it around. With, or without him. Man it feels good to know that we have Odell and Jarvis, for two more years minimum. With the other guys on the roster behind those two, and Dural coming in from Breaux Bridge, I'm really not concerned at all. All that said, I just love me some Rueben Randle. Fell in love with the dude when since I first put on his high school film. I was sweating bricks when it was coming down to the wire on his national signing day announcement. He hasn't disappointed at all (the QB play was absolutely terrible during his entire career). But with that said, while today seems long an painful from recent shortcomings, that time is going to be fly by. I don't understand how the adults closest to him don't give him that wise advice. Why go for 350,000-600,000 grand a year When in 365 days, you'll be worth about 4 to 6 million. It just not a good business decision. And as far as injury's go, you could get hurt in practice. You could tear and ACL running routes at the combine. I've seen athletes rupture there achilles during warmups before NFL games. Get in car accidents before ever playing a down and may never play again. Injuries in football, just like life and death, have to be taken in faith. You can never predict them. Thinking you can is as crazy as crazy gets. The other thing that they don't get is, that college degree from LSU will keep him employed more than football ever will. Whats more certain than that. I understand that the money sounds good. But the long term at LSU benefits his potential both on the field and off the field. Shred that early entry paper work Rueben. Don't give up on your dream of holding that crystal ball. Because next year it's going down!!! Geaux Tigers!!!!
