He's actually been a 3-star all along.Even though he should be higher one of the main reason he isnt higher is because he didnt hit the summer camps hard.I'll be up in Bastrop and Monroe for chirstmas tomorrow and will try to talk to ppl if I go to church I will ask him personally what his plans are.
um, marshall faulk, travis minor, warrick dunn.... ed reed.... reggie wayne... I can think of more if I try really hard.
:geaux: :crystal: :helmet: All those were back in the "bad old days" before Saban and Miles. Since then (2000) we've pretty much locked down the state. I don't think those kind of misses will happen too often now. Those you listed were big though, especially Minor & Dunn. Both were from B.R. Yikes!!!:geauxtige :champs: :LSU231:
IMO Brock isn't really a miss and JM is too early to determine and Warrick Dunn then Travis Minor were not misses b/c we weren't on their List and FSU just like Reggie Wayne w/the U those schools were their Dream School and on top at that time. Also JDBooty isn't a miss either now if we miss out on JM's little brother Jonathon Mcknight should we continue our success at the NC level I'll consider that a loss.
dunn, minor.wayne werent misses cuz we didnt have much of a chance to get them.....mcknight was a miss but we really didnt hatve much of a chance in my opinion it was either that or we did do a great job recruiting him..now the reason why i say mackey would be the biggest miss i have seen is because he actually wants to go to LSU
Travis Minor went to FSU when they were having great success while LSU was struggling. Even though LSU was not playing well, we had much more talent and depth at RB than FSU. Minor had a choice: go to a top ranked team and start immediately; or play for a very average team in Baton Rouge and be nothing more than the 4th string RB for the first two years. He made a good decision. Nobody realized Faulk's ability and most major teams wanted him as a DB. San Diego State's pathetic program got lucky when they offered him to play RB. They figured he would be average (which is above average for them) and he turned out to be great. He was an anomaly. Reggie Wayne just wanted the bling bling on South Beach. JD Booty didn't win the Heisman that some tried to give him before the season even began, therefore, he's a BUST! :hihi: Somtimes the "gets" and the "losses" have a lot to do with the high school coaches. We had a few issues with the Evangel staff and I still believe that John Curtis steers players away from LSU.
Yep these two schools for some reason don't even like there in state university. I hate both schools for this and hope they never have top talent or win, but they still do. IMO the main reason we didn't get Joe was because of his coach and I think it will be hard to get his brother because of this. I think Evangel has changed a bit but they ain't what they used to be. Mackey is a great talent no doubt about it but he should have gone to the summer camps and showed them what he could do. LSU might have been more willing to take a chance on him then. Because of his grades he will end up at a small school.
Qualify first... If he qualifies I would rather have a Louisiana Man who wants to come to LSU than some recruit from miles away that we are begging to come. If He really wants to come... ask him to grayshirt till he gets the grades in order.. I mean its his fault his grades are bad so it would take a little moving on both ends to get to the middle.
Kids going to high school in Baton Rouge that have long, productive NFL careers are way bigger misses than 3-star players. Just saying. If you can't see this, you are ignant (sp)
