And he's in law school and is married with two children. He's also won a National Title/Super Bowl ring for all three coaches he played for: Saban (LSU), Bill Belichick (Patriots), Sean Payton (Saints) Randall Gay trades playbook for law books Nov 26, 2012 (Gay is) at Southern University Law School. He is about to complete his first semester. ... Even though he’s turned in his playbook for law books, he still uses the lessons he learned while on the field. He says law school is a challenge just like football and when he becomes a lawyer he will be competing against other lawyers in the courtroom just like he used to compete against other players. So what has the transition been like? “I didn’t have to really study for football. It’s just something you know. Now, I’m starting from scratch writing briefs. I don’t know what a brief is. I’m taking a tort class. I don’t know what a tort is. In football, we have seven days to prepare. Now I have to do assignments and have them done by the next day. But I’ ve learned to adapt quickly.” He hopes to serve as a role model for young people. He wants them to see that if he could go back to school after a successful football career it’s certainly something that they can do too. He says he wants them to know he could have taken the easy way out, but it’s important to continually challenge yourself. He has no concrete plans yet as to what he wants to do once he gets his degree, but sports agents beware. “I tell my agent ‘ don’t let me to get this law degree. I’ll take all of your clients from you,’” he says laughing. http://ebrsouth.wafb.com/m/news/events/55901-randall-gay-trades-playbook-law-books

She graduated LSU in Economics (Gay majored in Marketing). here's another article confirming that his wife works for the Lousiana Dept. of the Treasury (bottom right of the of article). this is what the Times Picayune said Gay's wife did: --Police also arrested a woman, Desha Penco, for interfering with the arrest. --Penco, 33, of 20920 Turkey Creek, Baton Rouge, was charged with interfering with police officer and simple damage to property when she tried to kick out the window of the police car. Penco is listed as Gay's wife on his New Orleans Saints bio and Wikipedia. --Kelly said Penco began "yelling and screaming and trying to get into the middle of it. She was advised to move away, and refused." Penco was then arrested for interfering and for damage to property when she tried to kick out the windows in the back of police car. --Penco was released at 7 a.m. after posting a $1,000 bond. (married in 2006) Dec 2008: "We went out to eat Saturday night with...Desha and her husband, Randall Gay"
as that Times Picayune article pointed out, all this happened at the Bulldog on Perkins (right by College Dr at Southdowns)
I got the chance to coach against Blue when he was in middle school. Even back then he was a fantastic athlete. A few years later, I transferred schools and taught and coached his younger brother for a year. The brother wasn't quite the athlete Blue was but wasn't bad and, more importantly, was a very good kid. Smart, respectful and funny. During that year, I got to meet Blue several times (he was a sophomore or junior at LSU at the time) mostly because Blue took a very close interest in his brother after their mom died tragically of a heart attack one afternoon while driving home from work. Blue also seemed as good a kid as his brother, just a little more quiet. This arrest seems really out of character for him, but shit happens, y'know. If he hadn't played at LSU and in the NFL we never would have heard about it. Or to put it another way, if it had been his brother, rather than him, I might -- and that's a pretty big might -- have heard about it through the grapevine and not on WWL, Twitter and this board. That's funny right there, I don't care who you are.
