Heard briefly from Miles' press conference that he remarked that violations this recruiting season was more rampant. Anyone with insight into this?
Florida was telling Tolliver that LSU academics suck...so he sent his coach and some other school advisor to LSU last weekend to check it out....their report was we had outstanding academics.... I'm also hearing that Miles is working on collecting some evidence that would show Saban and coach YAW YAW YAW YAW violated NCAA laws with regard to McKnight
Sounds like it is a cut throat business with recruiting with seemingly quite a few schools engaging in negative recruiting. I liked the way Miles sounded when he discussed about negative recruiting; he just says about things he believe the unversity and program can offer. The way he talked via phone from the athletics department in the press conference at the Bash is that he sounded very sure of what he is doing with a lot of conviction; very different from the press conferences during the season.
I have no inside info on this, but the schools involved are probably USC, Ole Miss, and Alabama. Tennessee reported Saban/Bama for several illegal recruiting things already. There may be more to come from us if we get anything concrete. USC supposedly was making calls during the dead period. Ole Miss, not sure what they did, but just get that feeling.
Someone ("insider")said that Ole miss was trying to block LSU from getting McKnight so he would be out of the SEC. Negative recruiting, dead period contact, etc.
Let's not start or perpetuate undocumented rumors involving recruiting violations. Some of this stuff backfires.
I know *supposedly* Petey, Nick & Coach O all ganged up on LSU & put us down, but that in & of itself is not a violation.
Most recruiting violations are undocumented...it's a he-said this thing.... I'm just letting people know that a man with a conection is saying this...
