I read where Chavis will be staying on at LSU,with a nice big fat RAISE:insane: The tune of 600,00 for another 3 yrs. Seems they matched Georgia's offer...
true. and i assume you dont agree with this. care to elaborate and give your reasons? maybe give us a bit of discussion material?
Im glad to see Chavis stay. I think he does have the defense headed in the right direction. In some ways he had the defense overacheive this season. A young secondary, solid linebacking core and well a bad defensive line kept us in most games. With Crowton at the helm on offense, we need a good defense to keep us in the hunt.
I feel that to get a raise ;shows your doing your Job. No,I don't think the whole coaching staff is doing a very good job as we seem to be spiralling back down to a mediocre team that once was.If 8-9 wins a year are ok then were all set for the next year. But to continue to recruit 4-5 star kids and not coach them to the full potential is a waste. I could go on about this, but for now the BCS TOILET BOWL is coming up,and I feel I must attend....
no, thats not what i asked. i asked for reasons on chavis. how is chavis not doing his job. not coaching staff as a whole, but chavis' part in that. tell me what chavis' part in lsu's record was. tell me what areas chavis is not coaching to full potential. dont give me whole staff sound bites, give me reasons for chavis specifically. after all you probably dont want your pay being determined by what your co-workers do.
The defense was the best thing going for us in the game. It wasn't perfect, but it was certainly better than the offensive side of the ball. Chavis deserves the raise, I hope he plans on staying here awhile too.
Chavis is o.k. but it would'nt have broke my heart to see him go. Seems like we coiuld never get off the field on third down all season long and how about games like Bama and Florida punted one time the entire second half. He looks like his approach to defense is rush four and drop 7 with a few blitzes thrown in and when they did blitz they seldom got to the qb so is that the result of poorly designed blitzes or players just not executing?
I'm guessing both. Sometimes Chavis does do some strange blitz or my pet peeve, rush three. Sometimes, well hell, often, players miss tackles and get caught out of position. Some of the players were out because of an error, but sometimes they're out of position because of a zone package. The main thing is that it is improving, and hopefully will continue to improve.:miles:
