No doubt. The 'option' with Brees for one, the 61 yard FG attempt with a rookie kicker in his first game, is the other. I think you have a better shot of completing a hail mary. That's what they shudda/cudda/wudda done. Really? That surprises me. Not just because of the 98 yarder, but if we didn't have him, we'd never score. No one else can get separation. Oh yeah and did I mention how ridiculous the tackling was? Raiders scored 22 pts in the 4th Q. On the TD with :47 left, 5 Saints were on their asses as #10 from the Raiders crossed the goal line. Beyond pathetic.
nola.com reporting Delvin Breaux's injury appears to be a broken fibula. That will just about trash his season.
Are yall encouraged more or discouraged with yesterday's performance? Oline was much better than expected. D was good until the 4th. Then the wheels came off. Settling for FGs and FG attempts really hurt. With our d, I'd almost always go 4 it on 4th and less than 5 in opp territory.
I am at the point where I just want Brees to have incredible games. I did not think the line would be very good this year, but against a very aggressive and talented front 7, this line looked pretty strong. For that I look forward to Brees throwing 44 touchdowns and 5300 yards. The rest will be garbage, special teams, defense, the place kicker
Just not inside the 10, when it's critical. I just don't think Payton either has confidence in it near the goal line.
He and the fan base have been having nightmares about this since year 1. It's almost as bad as Les Miles clock management.
