Brees just hit Cooks in the hands for a 98 yrd Touchdown. The D isn't great but they're playing a decent game today.
Delvin Breaux having leg issues; not good. A. Peat not performing that badly at left guard. The Brees-to-Cooks TD is a team record. State of the NFL in 2016....LB Robertson just came free on a blitz and hit Carr cleanly, but a hair late, and Carr completed the pass. Carr got to his feet and instead of looking to see if he had thrown the completion, looked to the ref for a late hit call.
Breaux is on the cart headed to the locker room. Our top 3 CBs in the game now are all guys who took their first NFL snaps today.
Defense has played better, but still having issues with poor tackling. Pathetic actually. And they were also helped out a lot by Raider penalties. Still the Achilles heal of the team. That, and an inability to run the ball and stop the run cost them the game. You should not have to throw the ball EVERY single time you get inside the 5. Had to settle for a FG earlier in the game because of it.
Again the game is given away in the 4th, having to rely on a 60+ yrd FG for the W. This will end up being a long season. When do the fire SP rants begin?
Jim Larauntis (sp?) is terrible. I think he was an even worse FA signing than Byrd. The only thing this team has going for them is Brees and Cooks. You should never lose an NFL game when scoring 34pts. We'll need to outscore team to win this year.
Oh yeah, how could I forget that? When did Brees all of the sudden become Cam Newton? Worst call in the SP era. Awful and it cost us the game.
