While amusing, I hesitate to say this is funny. A category 3 hurricane bearing down on anyone shouldn't be funny to Louisianians. Even if UF does get out of this game, we shouldn't lose focus on the fact that they've got a hurricane on their hands.

I think history will be most harsh on the Gators if this game isn't played. People will look back and see that every team in the southern region are playing sometime, somewhere. And THIS weekend. Florida will never run from that FACT. It's not like Gainsville was somehow the epicenter of all hurricane chaos. It was actually one of the cities taking evacuees from the southern end of the supposed harder hit areas. If you think a lot of people are convinced that Gators taste like chicken, just wait?

Why are people acting like they cancelled it to stay safe for a hurricane and that their whole intention of canceling was because of a hurricane, and NOT because they didn't want to travel to BR 3 years in a row? Yes, it is a terrible hurricane that will most likely cause damage. We all understand that. But the context here is a football game. They ducked out of playing because they didn't want to play. Not because they said "football isn't important to us right now". I would've respected that lie more than the one they gave instead
