This rumour and the amount of money involved sure doesn't help Ark negotiate with other candidates. Very bad for them for this to leak out. Great for Miles of course.

Um, Dinardo, Archer et al. How quickly we forget.

Jesus Christ man. In the 8 years he's been here, of the 100+ teams in D1, how many have won a championship? You just don't understand math, do you?

Les Miles has proved that he can win the games against coaches his level but when he goes up against coaches that make 5 mill a year he shows that he is worth what he is getting paid. Will it make any differences if he gets a raise to 5 mil NO! I believe that if it wasn't for Les Miles LSU with the talent that we have had should have had several championships if only we had a coach.

Be careful you will be accused of being a spoiled fan. We are not to expect championships every year.

I don't know if some of you guys are just too young to remember the dark days but they existed and they can come back. Any time you switch coaches, your program takes a chance of either improving or getting worse. For LSU, believe it or not, there's not a whole lot of room for improvement.

I remember the dark days, and you are absolutely correct.

The AD really does not have my confidence as much as he should. Hope Alleva is doing the right thing behind the scenes one way or the other.

Les Miles and his staff bring all of that talent to Baton Rouge. Here is a list of men who have multiple championships in the BCS era: Nick Saban, Urban Meyer.

Ask Tennessee, Nebraska, Miami, Auburn fans if they regret letting a coach go who didn't meet their insane expectations.

Here's the question for the Les haters -- who out there is better or at the very least, equal to Les? IMO, he's a great man, a great coach, and I hope he stays at LSU for a long time to come.

I love Miles as our coach although acknowledge he's not perfect and subject to reasonable criticism from our passionate fan base. Asking for multiple championships during a relatively short (8 yrs) tenure is like asking why you haven't won the lottery yet. Sure, winning $20 on a scratch off is great and all, but why haven't I won the millions yet?

By that logic Bama has hit the lottery again?
