Was a good deal for both programs. Pigs put themselves on notice that they want big and are willing to pay. Some coaches didn't even pay attention to em till today. Bet Petrino had a GREAT day! John L. had a drink. Miles gets to fix (?) (sorry) the offense along with the administrative failures that have occurred within the department. Gets a bonus- bonus, get fired up a bowl game...reset for 013. Find Krags a new gig... Good times.
I'm not bluffing, I'm calling his. Apply that very same logic to his position and wah lah. There ARE times that calling a bluff is a good move in poker, as well as other venues. I'm fine either way. LSU would be too. What has he done to "deserve" more money since his last "renegotiating" blip? The incentives are in the contract- earn 'em.
Pretty shitty that the HC will now go over $4M/yr and has a perenially shitty ranked offense. But let me add my disclaimer here, I do not want Les Miles fired... now maybe some of yalls panties stay nice and comfy.
You have to wonder what the limit for him to leave is though in terms of money. Maybe a million more per year
If the number r-kansas was offering is real, it means that Les turned down a $1.8M/yr raise to get a $500,000/yr raise. A $1.3M/yr differece. One thing about Miles is for sure. He is not a greedy man. Had LSU not given him a raise, I doubt he would've left. No one wants to go to NW R-kansas. And Miles is no different. He has it pretty good at LSU, a situation that is not as glorious in Fayetteville.
Les miles turned down a huge offer to stay at LSU. Not picking on anyone here, but i have a serious question for everyone.....les turned down an offer of approximately 1.3 mil a year, we know for most of us those numbers are hard to compute on our level of income to provide for our famalies. So my question is this, How many people out there would turn down an offer from a competiter that would give you a 35% increase in salary?
When you're already pulling in $3.7M/yr, and getting a $500,000 raise on top of it, plus contract incentives (which i'm sure miles brings in a ton in incentives), guess imo that $1.3M/yr extra just isn't really all that important. I've done well for myself in the past, and i've also been broke as a joke... but money has never spun my world. Yeh it's nice to have but I am my own free person controlled by nothing.
Okay...that makes one of you....my whole point to this was to see how many people would stay loyal or jump ship for a 35% increase. Not sure what I would do, guess it would depend alot on how happy I was working where i'm at.
