Let's not forget also, a lot was made last year about Quinn dropping passes on crucial 3rd downs against Alabama, but if Malachi gets at least 1 foot in bounds on a throw from Jennings, those drops don't matter, LSU wins.
A really good read on the subject... http://www.andthevalleyshook.com/2015/10/6/9461841/hey-were-still-talking-about-the-lsu-passing-game
Very good and accurate article until the end. Miles doesn't trust the passing game because he doesn't understand a passing game, it isn't in his DNA. Of course 7 is the best option at this point and would be almost any season. However Miles can't come up with a passing game even when success or failure depends on it. Blaming the lack of a passing game on Fournette is just lazy journalism.
Yeah we didn't have Fournette 2008-2011, what's the excuse there. Cue the Perriloux dismissal excuse...
Right.....Mett threw for 3 grand, with OBJ and Jarvis getting 1000 yds each because Miles doesn't understand a passing game. Jamarcus Russell shredded the SEC, with Dwayne Bowe and Craig Davis both earning first round draft picks because Miles doesn't understand a passing game. Did you look at the run/pass ratios in the article? Under 60/40 in each of his first 5 seasons, and never 70/30 or higher, even last year when Jennings couldn't hit water from a boat. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your misconceptions.
You can't count the Jamrcus years, or 2007. Or really even 2008. Reason being, when Les got here Jimbo Fisher was the OC, he didn't touch the offense. He let Jimbo keep his offense, and Jimbo do his thing. He hired Crouton in 2007, didn't really meddle, LSU wins a championship, 2008, the wheels fall off, and Lee throws 6 pick sixes, Jefferson isn't much better, fans want Les fired only a year after he brought crystal to BR and it fucked him up. He still has nightmares about that season, and he said to himself, never again. If I go down, I'm going down doing it my way, and while he may not call plays unless there is a situation where he overrides, i would bet this offense was created and it's run by Les. Cameron calls plays from a chart or a playbook constructed by Les Miles and he ain't giving that shit up, and honestly I think it's our own damn fault. If LSU fans would have just collectively breathed and said, Les will figure it and not done shit like put for sale signs in his yard, and called radio shows saying fire Les etc etc....maybe he doesn't go all offensive Nazi on us. Anyway, that's what I think.
