Hell, if you listen to reporters' "questions" during press conferences these days, that's all they do. Its rarely a question anymore, its a "Please talk about....." followed by the reporter's perception of what is going on. I catch myself doing it now and then with my local coaches, and have to stop myself. It essentially says,"I already have my story written, I just need you to say something that confirms what I think I already know."
Not exactly. I heard him and whatever he said is certainly open to interpretation. If it was up to me I would bench Dupre and Dural and start Chark and Diarse or maybe Quinn if he is healthy. Teach those prima donnas a lesson and maybe when they get back on the field they will concentrate on their job of catching the football.
Benching a starter usually helps that player become better. I know he wasn't any good last year, but if I remember correctly, Jennings was better after the Auburn game than he was prior to it. Also, I believe Jacob Coker at Bama is much better after he rode the pine for a half here recently. Auburn linebacker Kris Frost (?) rode the pine this year after meeting Leonard Fournette and he's much better now than before. Whether or not the quote was taken out of context, I believe Dupre and Dural need to watch from the sideline this weekend in hope that it gets them to step up.
exactly... i really don't like when a guy who's there acts like he supposed to be there and feels he can slack off... Rice (the goat) worked his ass off to stay no.1 even when he was clearly the top guy...
I think the question was "if les came and told you he was going to run the ball 75% of the time, would you have gone to LSU". Of course the answer is no but that's a question that can trip up a 19 year old. Gotta learn to just not answer some questions.
"If they were recruiting me and they told me they were going to give the ball to Leonard, or the running backs 75 percent of the time, it might be hard to get a recruit at the receiver position or quarterback position,'' Dupre said. ''But at the end of the day, we're here ... we've got to live with it." I think he implied as much from the above quote. But again, it's all in a person's interpretation. Where did I say anyone did say that? All I said was it feels like there's a rift due to the statements that he made. At the very least it implies that he (and by extension some receivers) are not satisfied with their current role which can lead to rifts. Now we can argue about how much that is a personal issue, etc, etc. I agree it is an attitude problem. And it definitely should have been kept in house. However, now that it's out there, I think there might be bigger implications when your starting WR publicly criticizes the balance of the offense than just he is lazy, spoiled, etc. On a side note, A few years ago I don't remember Miles letting players speak so much to the media. I can't even remember an on the field interview with any player before Fournette this year. It seems like every week now we are reading about players giving long interviews and saying somethings that make you Shake your head.
The radio said that the quarterback and receivers were not made available after the game. I suppose Les had some thing to say to them first.
