I mainly read the posts on here but I have a few topics I would like to throw out to every one. First who thinks Miles leaves for Michigan? I'm a little unsure. I think if we win the NC this year, he may leave. Reason, coaches like to prove themselves and I can't see him being any different. With a NC under his belt, why not go to the place you love to try to do it again. Put yourself in his shoes. Say your heart was at LSU but you were coaching say Texas. No matter how happy you would be a Texas, wouldn't you drop them for LSU? Second, who would be hurt if he lost? Again, I'm having mixed feelings. I think he is a good coach, but he has some questions. He's made questionable calls, some for the good, deep pass against Auburn, and some bad, 4th down run against Kentucky. Also is recruiting down this year because of the talent around or is that not a focus right now due to our NC possibilities? Personally, I believe kids from LA should be beating down the door to come to LSU. I think the only reason I would be hurt if he left would be because recruits may start looking at LSU as unstable for coaches. Who would want to come to a school and play for a coach who may not be there when he was a senior? Third, how do you think we will fare in the NC game? I really like our chances, especially if we really can get the home field advantage. If that happens, I don't think Tressel can imagine what a LA home field can do for LSU. Maybe he can ask Ole' Bobby Stoops. The crowd will play a huge role in this as long as we get the majority in that stadium. I think OSU's offense plays well to our defense. They run a traditional offense against our tough nosed defense. Advantage LSU. Our offense against their defense is all going to depend on who plays QB, how he plays, and the play calling. I don't think the speed is going to be as much as a factor some believe. It's going to come down to execution. Lastly, how do you feel we will fare next year. First of all I think it will hinder on who the DC will be. Hopefully its someone who is young and hungry and runs an aggressive defense. That is LSU football--agressive defenses. Also, it will be very tough with playing Auburn (always tough), Florida (Tebow...need I say more), South Carolina (up and coming), and Arky (new coach) on the road and a tough home games against Georgia (very tough team) and Alabama (Nick Saban's second year). I can easily see a 9-3 season. Its the next year I'll expect what we saw this year for one reason ... Perriloux will be a Senior.
Miles won't leave (this year). He can't now. It would be too damaging to his public image. It's the National Championship. What LSU fan wouldn't be hurt if we lost? Miles will continually have to prove himself to the LSU fan base, unfortunately. If he loses this game, it's not a huge deal. We'll be competing for it again in 09. I like our chances against Ohio St. They are a very good team though, so I won't be predicting a blow-out, although I do believe it's possible. I don't think the home field advantage will be a big thing. Next year's schedule is just murderous. Our defense, particularly CB & LB, will be young & inexperienced. Our offense should be very good, but that's not enough. I'm predicting 9-3, with a chance to win the SEC but no shot at the NC.
