What are the chances that we get selected to play USCw in the Rose Bowl??? If we win the SEC and #1 or #2 lose, putting tOSU into the NC game, who would play in the Rose Bowl against USCw? UGA, Kansas, LSU, surely not Illinois??? Or, would we automatically go to the Sugar Bowl as SEC Champs?
If you win, you're tied to Sugar and if USC beats ugla we're tied to Roses. Illinois has a shot at the invite to Pasadena but I'd prefer the Bulldogs.
Be careful what you wish for. On a serious note, that would be a hell of a matchup between USC & UGA.
We almost made it 24 hours without this question being asked again. More likely that LSU plays UT in the SECC, and then, if we win, we play Illinois in the Sugar...a la 2001. But if Hawaii wins next week, they'll likely be in the Sugar against the SEC champ.:thumb:
Oh, come on! Between Illinois and Georgia? Illinois is #15! How does beating them help? I'd much rather beat the Dogs. :hihi: I would like to play/beat the Luckeyes but if we don't get them, we also start a home/away with them next season so we'll have a shot one way or the other. I really don't want to see LSU have to play the Bows. You deserve better IMO.
You know what scares me about that? Pretty obvious actually, which is the scenario of Colt Brennan lighting LSU up for about 500 yards passing and a half dozen TD's. Especially if they find the mismatches with our LB's and safeties.
Wasn't aware of that. :thumb: If we would have taken care of business Friday we wouldn't have to worry about playing the Bows. But we didn't so you play the hand you're dealt.
The Rainbows have had a very soft schedule but Colt Brennan is the real deal. Mater Dei HS puts out serious QB talent and Colt was Matt Leinart's back up for a bit. He now holds just about every NCAA record for QB's there is. However, your Dline (if healthy) will give him fits and their D will not be a match for whomever you have at QB or for your RB's. I do have a ton of respect for their coach June Jones. He'll bring a solid game plan.
First we have to lose to Tennessee. If that is the cost of playing in the Rose Bowl, you can have it.
