Question for Military Schools

Do the cadets/midshipmen/Air Force Academy students get a paycheck? What I mean is that when you enroll in one of the service academies are you then in the military? If they are then it would follow that they would receive a paycheck the same as other people in the service.

If they do get a paycheck how does the NCAA deal with the athletes being paid?

Not at all. An exemption is for some kid that has a job in the community or at the bookstore or Uncle Joe's barber shop.

When these men and women sign away years of their life to serve the nation that isn't an exemption. The fact that they get paid is irrelevant, what gets lost is the commitment, the sacrifice, sports and "amateur status" takes a back seat. If you don't understand then nothing I can say will help you.
