how does this NFL Supplimental Draft work?

what does a "fourth round" pick mean?

Does that mean they forfeit a fourth round choice next year?

    i am totally confused.

its the draft after the real draft for the underclassmen who didnt declare previously and are ineligible for school.

theres a lottery where teams who won 6 or less get first dibs.

then non-playoff teams. then the 12 playoff teams.

usually not enough dudes to even lose sleep over. like 10 if memory serves correctly yet still less than half of those will be chosen. but if a team uses a pick here they lose that pick in the same round the following year so teams are hesistant to waste a pick on some guy who has a lot of question marks. they are just as likely to be able to sign them as a free agent once no one takes them and save themselves a ton of money. so its pretty irrelevant for the most part.

    hope that make sense.

so no one got taken until the 4th round.

does that mean they literally had a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round where all 32 teams passed their picks?

i think that is correct, sir. no one wants to waste next years pick unless ryan perrilloux the 5th is available.

90+ picks of "pass", until someone acts...

boy, that seems exciting... :) NOT

Teams can sometimes land a true diamond in the rough at minimal cost, like Charlie Casserly's STEAL of Tony Hollings, using only a second round pick. I mean, Hollings was coming off a major injury and there was minimal film on him, so Casserly was really able to make a mark on his draft futility with that second rounder.

Ahmad Brooks (I think that's his name), LB with discipline problems was picked up last year by the Bengals.

See, teams can really focus on their strengths in the supplemental draft.
