Ok, there is a lengthy discussion over on another board I read about fanhood. Do you have any favorite college team from another sport (that LSU competes in) that is not LSU? As in Is there any team on this planet that you would ever root for if they played against LSU? for those rival fans that post here, substitute your favorite team in LSU's place.
not just no, but hell no! edit: i didnt see the poll until after i posted. (was it there from the beginning?) i voted hell neaux because anyone voting yes shouldnt be deported, they should be strung up by their cajones (if male) and used as a scratching post by mike the tiger.
It would be un-American and inhuman and they would not be a Tiger fan. I think we should draw and quarter anyone who votes yes. ldskule:
I think this would be a regional thing. College sports just isn't a religion in some parts of the country - like the northeast, where professional sports reign supreme. I could see a Rutgers football fan being a Georgetown basketball fan, or something like that. They're generally just not that into college sports - for instance a guy I know from New York who is a huge Jets/Knicks fan is an Alabama football fan (idiot). He's never lived there. Back to the poll - I don't even understand the question.
I like the scratching post idea...it seems like a reasonable and just punishment. (probably should have been one of the poll options)opcorn:.
If you are an LSU grad I can't imagine the first choice ever being considered. If you are a grad of another school lets say, Nichols, ULL, ULM, SLU, etc, but are a fan of LSU as well, I can see you rooting for your alma mater when they play LSU. Even then you should keep it too yourself.
The only time i would ever root against LSU is if my child was playing against them. And it would be tough, i may just root for LSU to win and for my child to have a good game, because there is alot to be learned from losing.
I can see your point, but this should never happen. My kids all know they have several ways to attend college; academic scholarship, athletic scholarship, daddy's dime, or pay themselves. Of which they have been informed that unless they pay themselves and have earned the money while not living under my roof they will be wearing Purple and Gold. No if's and's or but's.
