Speaking of obsessions. He's so worried about LSU's "obsession" with Saban, he needs to address his own obsession with LSU.
He could care less about LSU but more about people that get upset about it. Alabama/LSU fans are easy targets when you need ratings to go up. Finebaum is a smart man whether people want to admit it or not.
Thanks for pointing out that the thread was clearly hijacked. The original intent, as the title implies. was faithfully adhered to until the Finebaum article was posted. Even then, the majority ignored this carny barker, but you have seized this opportunity(as in many threads) to perform self fellatio in regards to the greatness of bama football as it relates to your spring game. You also have taken your obligatory shots at our own coach, albeit it, under the radar. It should be noted that at least one poster did not let it go unnoticed. You are an interesting poster Terry, and unlike most forums, rival perspective is appreciated here. It would be nice if you could adhere to the intent of the topics with out blowing bama propaganda, and maybe you wouldn't catch so much crap. 1.You guys had an unbelievable attendance for your Spring Game. 2.You had a record breaking recruiting class. 3.You have a great head coach. 4.Your team's attitude is changing. 5.You are poised to regularly compete for championships in the near future. WE GET IT. The fact that you are on a Tiger forum posting these facts, over and over again, lends one to question your own obsession with LSU and it's fans. At least Finebaum gets paid for people to read his copy. What's your excuse? I'm getting the impression that many people here are just weary of it. Perhaps you should give it a break.
I don't think I've suggested anything close to that. When I saw the link, put my cursor on it and saw where the link was headed I didn't bother opening it. There's not a damn thing found on AL.com, or from Finebaum, that has the least amount of interest from me. Being the highlight of Saban's tenure at Bama is simply not true. If I were to attempt to point to what was the highlight of his tenure so far it would be the UT game this past season. But, along with the spring game, there have been a lot of improvements that haven't been reflected (as of yet) in the W/L columns. That'll come with time. Over and over? Come on now. I responded to it when it was brought into the conversation.
Terry, I have neither the time nor the energy to research and link the number of times you have posted the information I listed above, in multiple threads. You will find very few posters here to disagree with me.
My only problem with Saban is Tiger fans who thought he was greater than he was. Seriously, be honest, who here thinks Saban would have done a better job than Miles did, had Saban stayed at LSU? I was not disappointed at all when Saban left LSU, I wasn't even surprised. It was the logical thing for him to do, to me. Now I was very surprised when Saban left the NFL (I thought he'd stay longer at Miami), and I was also very surprised that Saban happened to land at Alabama -- but I was very happy about that. Why? Because I hoped it would shut up all the Tiger fans who thought Saban was greater than he was. Granted, if Saban builds Bama into a powerhouse greater than LSU, I'll have to eat crow, but I don't think there is a chance in hell of that happening, although I do think Saban stands a good chance of building Alabama into a much stronger program (which, as a side note, I think will take in-state recruiting rival Auburn down a notch).
ill just save deceks the time...bama always out recruits auburn in state. auburn isnt looking to disappear anytime soon.
We had a guy from Iowa fly in the other day (His Dad is a pilot) and a QB in from Texas in for A-Day, which is outside our normal area. But yes, bama gets more instate players, but Willis is really working hard this year: http://auburn.scout.com/2/741717.html Greenville, Ala.--Auburn picked up its third verbal commitment for the 2009 signee class on Saturday when Jamontay Pilson picked the Auburn Tigers. A defensive end and defensive tackle, Pilson is expected to be one of the top prospects in the state of Alabama next fall as a senior. He was in attendance for Saturday's A-Day game and says he knew it was time to make his decision. "Yes sir I committed," Pilson tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I just wanted to go ahead and do it. The game was fun. I told Coach (Tommy Tuberville) today. He was pretty excited." Pilson was a standout at the Scout.com Combine in Mobile earlier this year. He says he plans to attend the Scout.com Elite Camp in Auburn on April 27 as well. He joins juco linebacker Eltoro Freeman and defensive end Terrence Coleman as Auburn verbals for the 2009 signee class.
