Over a year has gone by since our former coach took the job at Alabama. This initially caused a firestorm on interest and resentment, understandably so. But time goes on, and I think its time for Saban to just be another coach in the SEC West (well almost).

    What say you?

I gotta admit I blurted out some expletives towards Saban when Chad Jones made the tackle on the QB that caused the fumble. I knew we had won the game at that point and I unleashed a barage of profanity laden words towards Nicky.

I'm over him leaving LSU and I pulled for him in Miami. When he took the Bama job I wasn't mad or jilted.

But now, I hope he struggles every week and those Bama fans drive him crazy. I grew up in Birmingham and I know how much trouble he is in over there.

Many a time did I hear him cop an attitude in BR at some stupid question or any question that was the least bit critical of his decisions. I find it funny now that he may have thought how much trouble LSU fans were then. He's got to be farting himself over these freakish Bama fans.

Good luck Nicky dealing with those bastard Bama fans while we enjoy our 2nd National Championship in 5 years.

I did the same. I get most of my pleasure now from knowing how much crap he has to put up with in Bamaland. He thought he had it tough in BR......huh.

    Oh great another Saban thread.

Honestly, I have never hated the guy for leaving LSU or Miami. I just was dissappointed in the way he carried himself while doing so. Saban and his wife regret ever leaving and he still has LSU close to his family's heart.

Beating Bama with him or without him doesn't change anything for me.

Saban comes to Tiger Stadium next year for the first time in 4 or 5 yrs. I say, we beat Bama like they stole something, and then we can bury the hatchet w/ Saban!!!

Probably the best bama/saban thread ever started here. Qualifying how I feel about saban took some thought, which I suppose means I don't think of him much anyway.

Beating bama is important regardless of who is there but more so now, since they should become better and more consistent very soon. Which simply means, they are in our way.

Is it nice knowing that saban is losing at the same time? Sure it is. Just as it was when we saw Spurrier(rarely), Tuberville, Stoops, or Wiess lose. They are arrogant guys and have shown a lack of respect for our team at one time or another. It's always a pleasure to watch people like that suffer just a little bit.

However, I think he will fade, unless he really turns bama around immediately, and also remains for a lengthy time. He has started to turn things around, but will he be there long enough to matter to us? I don't really think so.

And as Miles continues to win over even the die hard whiners, saban will mean less and less.

But it will still be nice to see the camera pan to him after our Tigers stick bama on any given play. Much as it did when Spurrier was at Florida. He will quickly become a speed bump to LSU fans, but it will probably always rate raising a cup when he fails.

I agree with everything you say. He was an arrogant jackleg, but he won, so we put up with it. He always talks about integrity, but became a bald mouth liar himself.

Now that he is not on our side, he is just some jerk, coaching a team that I hate. Nothing more, nothing less...it just makes it a "little something extra" when we beat Bama now.

I almost did feel sorry for Saban too...but he practically took credit for our Sugar Bowl win against Notre Dame...and he shafted Miles with his "you got a good team" statement at the handshake.

Ironically, I am commenting about Saban, but I feel that the best thing for us to do is just to ignore him. With his ego, that would be like throwing water on the wicked witch of the West...he would just melt away.
