Go away! Stop this complete nonsense. . . . Rivers will not fix the offensive problems. You people are stupid for even suggesting we put in a QB with even less experience than Mett. Come to grips with the fact that we have our QB and the issue is far bigger than him.
In my opinion, our main problem is at QB. His performance last night was the most disparaging thing about the game. When he is flushed out of the pocket or is forced to scramble, he literally seems lost. And with the way our line is playing, combined with wide receivers who are not getting separation from their defenders enough, he is going to get pummeled for negative yards, or turn it over. Hate to say this, but I counted many times last night where JJ would have gained us some positive yards with his legs. I do not think Mett is going to get us to where we want. Not with this OL. We need help at QB. Maybe we need to start using Bolden in some series.
The problem is not Mett and the predictability of LSU fans calling for the backup to come in is laughable if it were not so sad. This reminds me of when JL was throwing pick 6's at such a clip that people were calling him "Taint" (touchdown after int) only to make him into some kind of QB he was never was when they grew tired of JJ. No inexperienced QB comes into a starting role without growing pains. None. Support Mettenberger instead of trashing him. He'll be fine.
I am not in favor of benching Mett. I would be in favor of putting in a Bolden for a change up on a series by series basis.
I am in favor of Miles waking the entire team up before dawn after a performance like yesterday and putting everyone on trash pickup duty to clean the campus up for an hour or two just before pre-breakfast wind sprints.
