I think CGC is a GREAT OC. I don't mind the pistol / spread / option offense that he runs. Heck, last year was the most offense we've put up in 1 season ever. I simply believe that you make adjustments when you don't have the personnel to run it to the level you desire. I'm not saying get rid of our current offense. I'm just saying that with Lee having trouble on inside slants / crossing passes that maybe CGC should modify his offense for this season to allow for more option handoff's. Or go to a perminate 4 WR set and allow Lee to have a check off / hand off to CS. Every play send 2 Deep, 1 a quick curl, and 1 a post to the outside. Heck delay handoffs from that formation would work quite well too. CGC will be successful with his offense, I just think he's trying to force the player into mold instead of allowing the player to mold the offense this season. Ofcourse maybe that's part of his plan. Better prepare Lee for next year by forcing him to make the passes this year. But Idk.
Bingo. And I do believe that the offense and defense feed off of one another, but when LSU held UGA fairly well in the first half, forced a punt, began to gash the UGA defense on the ground, and then called a roll out to the right, throwing a pick into double coverage that completely sucked all momentum out of the game, it's hard for me to put more of the blame on the defense. Not only did it deflate the crowd, it deflated the whole team. Same goes for Bama. We would have won that game with just about any other QB.
But we don't...and we're not. So Chris Mitchell catches that pass and Colt makes that chip shot with a different QB in there?
Not necessarily. If there were no pick 6's nor 4 INTs, we stood a good chance. How many points off of turnovers did Bama have? Gimme a break.
You cannot pin the loss on one player. Period. This is not tennis or golf. Fooball is a team sport. And, it's been nearly a week. You should be all cried out by now.:dis:
Lee's play in this game is certainly the biggest fault, but if you are going to arbitrarily pick one player or one play, you can just as easily pick the Colt David field goal, or Mitchell TD drop. The game was that close and any one play could have won it. Just shows that the game doesn't come down to one player or one play. When every other player on the team plays without mistakes, then all blame can land squarely on Lee's shoulders. Fact is he made plays and blew plays, but so did other guys on that team. Team sport, team loss.
How many points off turnovers has LSU had for the entire 08 season? The difference in the SECC game last year was a pick six in our favor. The difference in the season has been turnovers by our offense vs almost no turnovers by our defense.
That has a very big understatement. Here's the stats on our Turnover margin compared to last year. So far this year: 11 Turnover's Gained, 17 Turnover's Lost. Last year: 36 Turnover's Gained, 16 Turnover's Lost. We've given up nearly the same amount of turnovers, but we just can't seem to get a turnover on defense.
That's J-Lee's fault. He's causing the defense to want to play bad because they know no matter how hard they play, he'll somehow lose the game for them. Furthermore, they know that everyone will find a way to blame him even if they screw up. :dis: I heard the republican party was blaming J-Lee for the recession, too...because he's single-handedly causing people to lose interest in organized sports and that's leading to worldwide depression and less spending by proxie...:rolleye33:
