When we opened up the 2nd half on the first possesion we ran 3 straight running plays and punted. At that point I sent a text message out that read "If Les doesnt trust Lee enough and has to run 3 straight times, we need to try something else" I think JJ should have come in for the next series just to simply shake something up...hell it might have been the message that the offense needed. Les was not above sending a message to the WRs by going to Tolliver more at the end of the game which to me was a direct response to the drops by Byrd and Lafell.
Ok, well, maybe he should've had a chance to see what he can do in the Georgia and Florida games? But you STILL didn't give a good answer. Pryor has started every game since the USC game! Btw, I hope you read my response about the Shockey situation you brought up and you didn't answer may question about what a disaster is. Personnally, tonight was a disaster, 4 picks is a disaster.
We had 2 QBs for both of those games and were going to Redshirt JJ. And that's relevant how? The plan all along had been to redshirt JJ. Until THIS game, Lee was NOT the reason we were losing. No he didn't help matters, but the defense was a bigger problem. Until THIS game. The Florida game was a disaster. This oone hurts like hell, but not a disaster. only 2 of which were his fault. And on the pick 6, the guy ran 53 yards through our ENTIRE PHUCKING OFFENSE. Seriously, not one of these guy ever tackles anyone. The deepest man on the field catches and runs right through us.
How about this? At what point in the game did you truely say to yourself, " man, this is a tough spot, I'm sure glad Lee is in there." Any time you weren't thinking that would have been just as good of a time as any to give him a try. Remember, these are football players, not ballarinas. If they can't handle the pressure they don't deseve that scolly that is worth around $150k that we give em to win football games.
This came to me last night as I lay in bed rocking my crying, gassy newborn back to sleep. Lee has lost the respect of this team! Lee isnt getting worse....the team has stopped playing for him. I have said since Auburn that there is something mechanicaly wrong with him and there still is, just not the players have stopped giving their best on every play. You can see it in their reactions and body lanugage after a bad pass or an INT, its a look of DISGUST! And I cant blame them! If Scott, Williams, Murphy, Holliday had as many FUMBLES as Lee has INTs their ass would be sitting on the bench! I think the other players are pissed off! And if Miles does not do something this week, He is gonna be the one that loses this team next.
That is a great point..also they would be in the "dog house" or something fans would be saying and that they deserve it because they dont get a free ride to fumble the ball away.But....with Lee ionno:huh:
I don't think they want to take the chance of ruining JJ's confidence going into next year. If he's not ready, he's not ready. And I know the counter..."he can't do any worse"... And although that may be true, you don't want this kid going into the off-season with a screwed up head like Lee's going to have to do. If we weren't down to two QB's - like if Hatch hadn't been hurt - we'd have been seeing a lot more of him in past two weeks and things might have looked a lot prettier. Lee's performance and the the team's waning confidence in him is more a victim of circumstance than anything else. It's really unfortunate, because I still believe he could have been great with enough time and coaching to really develop him. Let's hope he can recover and learn his craft, because I think he's very talented...just not schooled well enough.
If he is not ready to go in and take some snaps them he has not right taking up a scholly! And you dont want him messed up for next year...so we just write this season off and if we when with Lee these next 3 games great if we lose oh well. We could lose 2 of these next 3 and not make a bowl, If this happens you will start hearing Les Miles and Dinardo mentioned in the same breath!
