One of the things looking forward is these receivers are getting better every game. We have at least 6 deep at WR and it is a young position on our team. As they gain experience week in and week out and as we pass better it opens up our running game. One of the good surprises so far is our rb's run hard and look damn good. That makes it hard for defenses to just focus on our running game as in years past. Being able to do both pass and run effectively is what this team has missed. And also if I am a good qb that likes to run and pass I would have to give LSU consideration now. Before that was not the case with recruits. I sometimes think Ensminger gets a little too conservative with a lead but he is getting a good feel for the talents he has on the field and how to use them. The future is bright any way we look. Stay healthy and get some oline consistency and we are starting to click.
Nice article about our offense https://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2018/10/lsu_receivers_burrow_jefferson.html#incart_river_index
I really think Dee Anderson is growing into his role as being a big time receiver for us. Other side Justin Jefferson is going to compliment him. If Giles can makes plays for us in the slot it could really open things up for us. I think Joe Burrow is what we all thought he was. He’s a winner and bring that he’s a coaches son understands the game. He can walk up to the line make pre snap reads and go through his progressions. Only thing holding us back offensively is out offensive line. The better they click the better we’ll be going forward period. If Burrow has time he’ll light it up.
I forgot to mention Jamarr Chase. I saw this guy play at Rummel and I really think he’s the future for us. No doubt in my mind he’ll be playing on Sunday’s.
Its too bad Anderson can't put on ten pounds and play tightend... He has the speed and strength to be an an All-American at the position.
We may have found that TE in Racey McMath. At the beginning of the season Steven Sullivan was tried at the position before moving back to WR.
