don't you know that they always provoke it? either by their flirtatious actions or by the way they dress? :nope: not trying to be apologetic for the dude, but with alcohol and the trashy way some of these girls dress, you have to realize that that puts a target on their backs to be approached by drunk college guys. i don't know the situation, or if the girl was indeed "dressed to impress," but i see this EVERY time i go out to a college bar. not saying that it's right, but it happens. all. the. time. i pretty much steer clear of these types of places.
I trust Miles and staff to look into this. If we know anything about LSU's coaches, we know they don't harbor idiots and malcontents. If it looks like this kid won't be a good gamble, they won't bring him in. If they do bring him in, I trust they've done enough homework to be satisfied he'll stay on the straight and narrow.:miles: And if it turns out this is another Ryan Perrilloux situation, I will change coats and become a Miles hater. :thumb:
"Now unless there's something missing from the story, like if the girl was provoking it" Well again maybe I am not qualified to make a judgement here. As I said I am the father of a daughter who is everything to me and I would shoot to kill anyone who tried to "Grope" or hurt her. Kill mind you with no remorse.... I also dont buy into the "Well maybe she provoked it" sorry thats weak and frankly careless statement. I dont know the details of this story and I never will know, but as a father NO women or girl deserves that. Groping, assault anything. I was a drunk college kid once I get it. But its still not excusable..... If there one thing someone needs at the QB position is self control. At this point on the limited info I have this kid didnt have any. And I will never buy into the fact "She provoked it" or justify it. It was wrong, everyone should get a second chance, but it shouldnt be forgiven. Off my soap box.
As the father of three daughters, I can understand the sentiment. But you may have overstated this a little. Either that - or you are so going to jail before she's 25. Groping happens. In my car in high school, it happened a lot.
Well let me clarify. Against her will. Deserves that. Understood I know it does I was a high school kid in Baton Rouge so I get that. And if my daughter allows it then I will shoot her not the guy.....But if my daughter says no, and someone does it I may not shoot the guy, but I sure will beat him almost to death ;-) Of course I am an unreasonable father and think my daughter is going to be a nun after she graduates at the top of her class from MIT, right before she becomes #1 on the LPGA. But hey thats not to much to ask BUt of course its my responsibility to make sure she isnt dressed like Shakira either....
Well we'll never know the details. Its up to Miles and his staff to make the call. After RP I'm sure they are very sensative to character issues especially at the QB position. I'm sure they have to consider what impact an offer on him will have on Rivers' committment. I don't think any because it appears that he was willing to come even when Ely was still in the picture. Wouldn't want him to pull a Rober Lane on us ( unless he is as good at QB as Robert Lane was :grin and I doubt that he would.
Maybe I'm missing what groping in a bar is. What that means to me is grabbing some chicks ass on the dance floor or trying to steal second while making out in the corner.
I get both points, my daughter is a Freshman at LSU, if she was groped at a party I would be pissed as well, but I also realize she is a tough girl and would probably knock the sh#@ out of the guy herself. The guy hopefully learned his lesson and deserves a second chance, not a 3rd or 4th, but a 2nd chance. By the way, I don't think I am gonna be worried about this guy anymore than I worry about every drunk frat boy (before I get bashed I was in a fraternity as well) around campus.
