Very possible situations. But I doubt Lee will go in as a change of pace just to throw the long ball. But in long yardage situations we very well could see him go in.
How in the world would that be gameplanning. DC for Auburn says Lee is coming in, the roll 2 safties over the top in a Dime package, then what? Hatch, should start and finish this game unless he is just stinking up the joint. Let him manage this game, hitting Dickson and the other receivers on short routes when its necessary. Other than that, re introduce Auburn to our NFL O-Line and Mr. Charles Scott.
I think both QB's will play no matter how the game goes. If Hatch goes in there and leads the offense up and down the field, then I would expect the game turns into a blow out and for him to stay in the game until Lee comes in for mop up duty in the 2nd half. If the game is low scoring and close, having 2 QB's alternate series isnt necessarily a bad thing. I would imagine that each QB only has to worry about half the gameplan, with each running a different style of offense. Hatch runs the option plays and a west coast passing system while Lee runs the shotgun spread. If one QB gets in a rhythm, the CLM will keep 'em in the game. However, when we alternate QB's, we effectively alternate offensive styles to go with it. It gives the auburn D more to prepare for during the week, which can't be a bad thing. Also, a properly timed offense switch can provide a needed spark. Call me a foolish optimist, but I think the positives of using both QB's outweigh the negatives. That and I trust CLM to make the right decision.
LSU's Jim Hawthorne (on 105.5 this morning) seems to believe that all 3 QB's will see playing time against Auburn. Among his numerous other claims:
Not surprising at all. He is more of a Homer than Mr. Simpson. And when I say he is a Homer, I mean he is the Homerest Homer that ever Homered. And we like him.
I think Hatch will play most of the game, and the other two will see mop up duty in the fourth quarter. :miles:
Knowing what Crowton has said on a few occasions I expect him to open up the playbook this week and in that playbook are a few plays and player packages that he created for when Lee is in the game. Plus I think they want to see what he can do and get him some expierence in a hostile enviroment, something that he has never encountered before. Also we could have a great game and feel comfortable allowing Lee to get some reps at the end of the game.
Seeing Jefferson in the game means we're either winning 41-3 or losing 41-3. Neither will happen this Saturday night. So that claim is outrageous, egregious and possibly outlandish. Best Stable of running backs ever assembled at LSU = true Best Stable of running backs in the nation = false, USC currently holds that distinction Best Offensive line ever assembled at LSU = true Best Defensive line ever assembled at LSU = true, also best in the nation
I think you may be way off here. I am expecting a heavy rotation of a two QB system for this game. However, I do not expect Lee to be a part of it. There are some little birdies flying around the BR area putting the JJ word out there. May be smoke, but it makes more sense than a Hatch/Lee rotation.
