Depends how they stagger them IMO. If Jarrett Lee plays this year, as Miles has stated several times, he will be a sophmore by the time any 2008 QB arrives on campus. And if the 2008 QB Redshirts, Lee will be a Junior.

Well, having a 5th year senior start this year is a big advantage for LSU, even though he's had very limited game experience. By having each QB only start a year or 2, you (hopefully) avoid a down year from having a young, inexperienced QB. Those years usually cost a team a couple of games for that season.

I am also curious about this. I know he's from PA but from his list of interested schools it doesn't appear that location is a major concern with him.

Scout is reporting that DC Jefferson has committed to Rutgers. They've said this before only to have to retract it, but this is probably one of those "where there's smoke, there's fire" things.

We picked a bad year to REALLY need a QB. There just aren't a lot of great QB prospects out there.

I think our immediate QB needs have been downgraded some - surely we will take one at some point this year, but I no longer think we take the passer/runner duo we were once shooting for. With the re-addition of RP, and the addition of Hatch and McCartney - along with the steadily improving and impressive play of Welker - we can afford to sign just one and keep those spots open for next year now. Next year, it will be imperative to sign a super high quality QB like Karam - after they get a glimpse of how Crowton will run his offense here, we should be able to snag at least one national QB.

Welker's a senior, and of the other two, only Hatch as actually ever recruited as a D1 prospect. McCartney's looking to get on a coach's track and I doubt he will ever play a down except as a gift. I think we need a QB in this class, even if it's a guy like Thomas ujjhhyuyuy who can eventiuALLY BE MOVED TO ANOTHER POSITION.

I would think with the spread option offense it would be essential to.

Like Darron Thomas. Who is a silent commit.

I said we will take one QB, instead of the TWO (ie duo) we were looking at earlier - a pro style QB (ex. Crist) combined with a dual threat QB (ex. Thomas). That means instead of two the coaches have been trying to get, I think we only take one now.
