My mistake and major blonde moment! Either way seems like sec refs see tho things but miss things like horse collars. Aqnd the wind at ground level was a problem all afternoon.
even though it appeared as a horse collar, the Florida player grabbed the shirt and not the inside of the shoulder pad (a prerequisite to calling a horse collar penalty)....that same player did, however, do the throat slash and should have gotten a 15 yard penalty and thrown out the game
I don't think I"ve seen this duo play as well together as they did yesterday. JL was 70% ..... and JJ performed well too. I hope the "fans" let it go and give JJ a break. The kid did well yesterday .. did what he was asked to do, and his dynamic is what allowed for that jump pass for a TD. Yesterday eased a lot of that "uneasy" feeling about this offense. It's of note, sure, FL QB's and offense were off ... but their defense is the same defense that faced Bama .... and our offense did every bit as well as Bama's ... if not a tad better. The ONLY reason the score wasn't a bigger blowout, is because CLM went real conservative in the third quarter. Run run run. When he reopened it up in the 4th with the pass to RR ... we pretty much moved at will.
He went conservative in the second quarter. LSU could have scored as many as they wanted to yesterday. The play action pass was good for a 50+ yard gain every time they wanted it.
I would agree with this and I think it's been there all year long. Look back at the MSU game, now THAT was a true conservative offense. Makes this game look like we're Texas Tech or Boise State. But when we had to pass the plays were there and it was easy pickings. This offense, if Les Miles wanted, could be scoring 50 points per game up in the top 3 in the nation. We're averaging 39.5 as it is. We certainly have left 10 points out on that field each and every game.
I agree with all your rankings. Great game. Only thing I would complain about was the fricking kicking tee. I'd give it an F.
