Lee 148.26 (puts him 35th in the nation, 4th in the SEC just behind Wilson and Murray) Overall LSU passing stats 82-133, 61.7 %, 1100 yds, 8.27 ypa , 10 TDs, 1 Int, 154.54 QBE Rating (would put us 25th nationally) As a unit, that would rank us 25th in the nation, ahead of notables Tyler Wilson (Arkansas). Nick Foles (Arizona), Aaron Murray (Georgia) and Geno Smith (WVU). 2010 LSU Passing - 92nd ranked nationally with a 117.35 QBE Rating Alabama passing stats 114-175, 65.1 %, 1307 yds, 7.47 ypa, 8 TDs, 4 Ints, 138.39 QBE Rating (would put them 52nd nationally)
We've won our :crystal::crystal: with senior/experienced QBs, and Lee and JJ both fit the bill. They're only required to manage the game, but they've exceeded expectations so far.
These are better numbers overall than Mauck or Flynn. With Flynn, we only averaged 6.7 yards per attempt. A yard and a half better than that is quite significant. Mauck/Randle had a 149.02 QBE Rating in 2003. Flynn/Perrilloux had a 133.63 QBE Rating in 2007. Mauck was 148.24, almost identical to Lee's rating after 6 games.
That's impressive also because I wonder how Top 25 teams did they do that against? We have played 4 Top 25 Teams in 6 weeks.
Another great point. We've had only 2 cupcakes and 4 tough opponents (only team in the nation who can boast that). And we're not even taking full advantage of what the defense is giving us. More times than not we are killing them when we do take those shots downfield. I still think we're saving some valuable piece of our game plan for Alabama.
The biggest difference between Lee and Mauck or Flynn is that Lee can't run. Most remember Mauck was a very good runner, but Flynn doesn't get the credit he deserves for converting many third downs with his legs after no one was open. Unfortunately, Lee can only throw it away or take the sack in most instances. He has been playing very well though and had a good game.
that penalty on the fake punt is such bull**** i cant overstate. genius. After a freaking intentional penalty?
That fake punt was called by Wing himself. He was ready to punt but all of sudden noticed the lack of pressure, so he decided to take it and run. Genius kid indeed, but it also says a lot about how thoroughly they are trained on daily basis to understand and pay attention to every piece of the game instead of just following the order.:thumb:
