Miles sound very optimistic about the injury in the paper this morning, mentioning that the trainers had upgraded the first prognosis and that Lee could still compete for the start. Then again, Les is usually very cagey about injuries . . . he may just wish to force the opposition DC's to keep planning for two quarterback.
That game was lost when the coaches decided at halftime that Charles Scott shouldn't play the rest of the game.
That game was also lost when Zinger dropped a catchable pass in the endzone. And when Colt David missed a FG as time expired And when our DB "fell" on UK's game winning TD And when the O-Lineman missed a block allowing Scott to get blowed up in the backfield on 4th and 2. To try to put that loss on Flynn, or Miles, or Jai Eugene, or any other individual is just not fair. The entire team contributed to that loss, much like what happened in the Swamp back in '06.
AHHHHH. Fair enough. But the game changed when Scott wasn't in the lineup. He was nearly unstoppable in the first half, which opened it up for the rest of the offense.
LOL, Scott had one great run...probably his best of the season. But I agree that he was ON that day and should have seen the field more in the second half. Nutria is, of course, right. It was a team effort. Too many mistakes, missteps, missed assignments, missed passes...just misses all around. Flynn had an average day, but to say he lost the game is too much.
Let's also remember that our team limped into Commonwealth Stadium that day after that primetime battle against Florida the week before. We were not on top of our game, and Kentucky was fired up. It made for a bad combination.
I think our injury situation pales in comparison to others in the SEC. In the paper this morning they described Florida with 5 ACL tears so far this season and Georgia just lost it's starting off. left tackle with a "major" knee injury. Richt describes the injury and says he's sick with the loss.
According to the coaches, KY changed their defense at the half to take away the play that Scott was so effective in running in the first half. I would compare it to LSU's adjustment to Beanie Wells in the National Championship game.
