Where is all the Cam hate coming from? Until he shows me Les controls him, or until he shows me he's playing favorites I'm going with the assumption the guy who worked miracles with our offense last year is still good ... I'm going to assume he put the person who fit the situation on the field and the 3rd ... almost 4th stringer transferred. I reserve the right to change my mind if people don't pan out, but hell you don't know Rettig might get fired up from this and be amazing at his next school, doesn't mean he was the right fit here.
is the confirmed now bhelm? I heard the rumor but I never saw a confirmation, and I really wanted to. I started out 2011 very iffy, I was talking to friends watching the Oregon game (I live in Arkansas so none of them know shit about LSU until the LSU Ark game and then think they are experts on LSU) and I said I expect our defense to rock (not as much as they did ... shit I was amazed) and us to have a good running game but I was afraid of Pick 6 Lee. He made a believer out of me up until Alabama, but I wanted him to have another shot and I never knew why he didn't get one.
I got more than enough confirmation on a conference call right when it happened and many times since then. Entire teams progress updates came the week after the Bama game. He wasn't the only one who had issues but his attendance numbers were staggering. Remember there was never a question about his grades or any class issues before this progress report and then all of the sudden he didn't graduate when expected and was actually taking correspondence classes during bowl preparations. Our recruiting class also took a hit because of it. We had one less spot because he didn't graduate on time and Patrick Miller was offered a greyshirt and went to Auburn instead.
I said nothing about white boys or Lee's effectiveness. I said that he won games and got benched for a guy who won less than half of that and actually lost one. Of course it is, just like your wild ass guess. Your opinions are not facts.
Don't know why I'm going to post this as no changes their mind from reading posts on a forum, but what the hell I'll give it a shot. 1. Miles track record has been to play the drop back passer over the mobile qb however some fans ignore this completely. 2. No one knows how well Rivers & Retigg performed throwing the ball in practice, which is really the only thing the coaches have to go on. How can anyone say they were better drop back qb's than the other two without having been to the hundreds of practices they participated in. 3. Miles starts Lee in 9 games but he hated Lee & is infatuated with Jefferson? Get real, Miles wants to win badly and only made that decision from his gut because Lee again turned to jelly vs Bama. It's not like he benched Johnny U or Bart Starr to play JJ. 4. CAM has more experience & expertise than all of us put together and is his own man. I'd bet a months pay he has more input in the qb hierarchy than Les does. 5. This is CFB, depth will always be an issue, especially at the qb position in this day & age. Guys who believe they are behind the 8 ball early are more likely to transfer than stay, it's a new age. Deal with it. 6. Our coaches make about 50-75 decisions on the depth chart each season, maybe even more. Looking at the results we've done pretty darn good for the past eight years, so sometimes you have to put your trust in the coaches. Seems too me that they've done a pretty damn good job at who should play, who should be be in the rotation, who should redshirt, etc.
Well you definitely have the insider information around here, and that all makes perfect sense. Thank you, that actually provides a decent bit of closure for me on the season that as much as I love to try and forget the bowl game I still fondly remember for all the amazing players we had that year.
Got a little info from someone I trust. Cam, Les and the staff likes where they are with QB's. They have 5, more than enough to do whats needed. Bergeron threw for right at 3K yards last year, transferred from CC, he wants to be here. Had offers, but would rather be at LSU as a Walk-on. Krags knows the offense like a coach and should. Cam brought Clise in with him as a walk-on. Found this one: If some remember, the WR Rob Bolden was a top 10 QB coming out of high school. In this day and time, I know, that means nothing. If this is good enough for Cam, Les and the staff, its good enough for me. What do I know? But like all staffs, they are always planning something. I'm sitting here in Tx waiting for kick-off, can it get here any sooner?
