I wouldn't want my top rated pro-style QB recruit son going to LSU, seeing Miles' patterns with QBs and his offensive schemes. I am sure there are some out there who see it and think that way. You think anyone who supported Jarrett Lee would sing the praise to others about Les Miles? I think not. Rivers and Rettig probably wouldn't either, if their careers didn't depend on putting on a happy face and keeping their mouths shut.
Mett, Pro-Style QB? Schemes? 3,000 yd QB, two 1,000 WR's and a 1,000 RB, I hope they keep those schemes. Don't you?
Hey man ... you are preaching to the choir. I'm biased, and I admit it. I like pro-style offenses, where the RBs do the running, and the QBs pass the ball to play makers. But ... the Running QB is all the rave these days. It is what it is. So we can't blame LSU for jumping on the band wagon.
Well I did, but the QB that was Mett 2.0 just walked out the door. Now we have "him" 2.0 and "him" 2.0 with less of an arm Jr.
Miles has made his bed and now it's time to lay in it. Not going to feel sorry for him in the least if this thing comes crashing down with Jennings or Harris. The collective LSU fanbase will be very unforgiving too if they can't get it done, especially so after running off Rivers and Rettig because they couldn't "run fast enough." I agree with Red55. Running with the football. That's what running backs are on the team for. I want a polished passer that can distribute the football to the WR's and RB's. Don't need or want a QB to run. Don't understand the fascination with some coaches over DT's. Manziel was the GOAT as a DTQB and A+M only won 8 games last year. Too easy to game plan and defend DT's. Stack the line and make em pass the ball. 9 out of 10 times the game is over.
Come on dad, you're knit picking a little. I don't see 3000 yds from the QB this season. Nothing in the spring game or what's heard from practice makes me believe that. The fact that the tight ends and backs out of the back field will be more involved this season would make me believe we will have trouble seeing two 1,000 yard receivers, and because Miles is Miles we may see a 1500 yard RB this season.
Kal, those were the strengths last year, that's what all good OC do, use what you have...along those lines for next year. Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport Dillon Gordon, TE, LSU Particulars: 6-5, 285, junior Buzz: Don't measure Gordon's value in catches -- he made just six all of last season -- but rather in the 1,000-yard rushing season Jeremy Hill posted. Gordon amounts to an extra offensive tackle in the Tigers' offense because he's such a powerful blocker. Left tackle La'el Collins, a strong 2015 draft prospect, raves about the holes that open on the left side when Gordon lines up beside him. This is no hybrid/slot tight end; Gordon is a traditional Y-tight end who plays with a hand in the dirt and a mean streak.
Do people really think Jennings or Harris are running QB's? Sure they can scramble, but how many QB runs did we see in the Spring Game?
