God love him but he sure has a mouth full of les. Cat has an answer for everything. Sort of like you Amigo
To be fair, Retting was indeed mentioned by Les multiple times in the spring. I watched all of the pressers after practices and they weren't all prompted questions about Rettig. Harris and Jennings just started getting more and more pub. Many leading questions about the two grew because those 2 just made more sense as likely starters as spring went on. http://www.wafb.com/story/24931630/new-faces-and-several-position-battles-ahead-for-lsu
This is a great example of why speculation of what is really happening on the team is so futile. The reporters see only a fraction of what happens and report even less. Many here speculate on little if any information. To me it shows most points made here are based on opinion not any knowledge.
If they're good enough to earn their reps, they'll get them. Rettig obviously did not feel he was in that position. Can you show me anything to the contrary, other than clinging onto his scholarship status for dear life? Considering the decision that he made, he obviously felt that he would not be part of the picture in the near future. What do you propose the coaches do to get him to stick around? Give him some pity reps? No, but I also don't think it's the end of the world, either. Rettig obviously didn't, so what I think is irrelevant.
So, you can't think of any walk-on quarterback who has ever played? So, you can't actually say that he was passed on the depth chart by a walk-on?
Ever heard of Brandon Weeden? He's in the NFL now. So, you can't actually say that he wasn't passed on the depth chart by a walk-on?
Did someone say Walk-on? LSU got a Walk-on from Harvard. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/23/sports/ncaafootball/23harvard.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 Cam should know something about walk-ons, he got one drafted into the NFL, Dennis was one of two TE's drafted that year. http://articles.baltimoresun.com/20...s-0730-20100729_1_tight-ends-mentor-todd-heap
Duhhhh, forgot about Hatch. But that article is wrong. Hatch got injured against Auburn, not Georgia, and it was in Jerdan-Hare, not TS.
Didn't have time to read, heading to lunch. 104.5 Fm in Btr, they had a good talk on this today.1100-1300 show.
Actually Red we did have one who started...the kid who transferred from Harvard (and back) a few years ago. He started a couple of games before he was hurt.
