So is this our savior for next season, LOL? http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2014/12/lsu_gets_commitment_from_flori.html#incart_river
Well, at least he's a pocket passer and not a RB playing QB. Plus he's a walk on, even though he has preferred status he won't count against the 85 man limit.
Yes and yes. You never know. He looks 12 y/o, but he is 6'3", a lefty and a pocket passer, so maybe there is hope.
This guy must feel like he has a shot to contribute. It would be a coup for him were he to gain traction, considering who offered him.
So true... What do these QB's have in common? These 4, are 4 of the top 5 underclassmen, draft eligible. Heisman winner Marcus Mariota. Brett Hundley of UCLA Kevin Hogan of Stanford Dak Prescott of MooU Add to the list the Sr's in this years draft class: Bryce Petty of Baylor Cody Fajardo of Nevada Cole Stoudt of Clemson. Answer: Not one of these QB were rated higher than a 3* coming out of High School. An just about everyone has been in a College system for 3, 4 or 5 years. I know everyone wants the five star players, but sometimes, just get a player, the right player. I was talking with someone yesterday and he was telling me that someone had took a look at every OL going back 10 years, the three star guys did the best by far making it into the NFL.
Victory Christian's Lewis Headed to LSU Class 2A player of year accepts offer from Tigers to be preferred walk-on By Roy Fuoco THE LEDGER Published: Thursday, December 25, 2014 at 10:51 p.m. Last Modified: Thursday, December 25, 2014 at 10:51 p.m. Victory Christian quarterback Caleb Lewis made his decision on Christmas and accepted an offer by Louisiana State University to be a preferred walk-on and will enroll at LSU in January. I'm going to show that I'm dedicated to the program, learn the system and soak up everything I can." As a perferred walk-on, Lewis will be guaranteed a spot in camp and will go through everything all the other players go through, going to meetings and all the workouts. "I think this is a great opportunity for him," said Victory Christian coach Tommy Lewis, who also is Caleb's father. "Because he has good grades, he can qualify for academic money, which will ease the financial burden. This is his dream school." Caleb wanted to take his time in making his college decision and investigate all his options before committing to a school. LSU offered Caleb the opportunity to be a preferred walk-on about five weeks ago, and Caleb waited to make his decision to see how things played out. Among the schools that offered Lewis was Albany State, but before he could make a visit, the school got a commitment from another quarterback. Last week, North Carolina State told Caleb he was one of five quarterbacks being considered, but on Christmas Eve, Caleb was told the coaches decided not to use the scholarship on a quarterback. "Finding that out yesterday was the last straw," Tommy Lewis said. "The Lord was calling LSU as the school." Caleb, who plans to major in medicine and wants to be an orthopedic doctor, will head up to LSU about Jan. 8. Caleb, who was the FACA Dairy Farmers Class 2A player of the year, finished two stellar seasons at Victory Christian where he led the Storm to the Class 2A state championship game two years in a row and won the state title earlier this month. In the title game, he set a state record with six touchdown passes in the championship game and his 385 yards was third all time. In two seasons, Caleb completed 353 of 632 passes for 5,647 yards with 60 touchdowns and just 21 interceptions.
