Makes since, kid is never going to see the feild. I would of waited one year though if I was him. The time put in might of earned him a little bling for that ring finger.
Totally get where he's coming from. The time commitment required of student athletes is unreal. I don't blame him for wanting to enjoy the last few years of his college experience like a "normal" student.
I think this is what many of us tend to overlook from time to time when it comes to our football players. For some of them, it's not JUST about football. For some of them it's about LSU and/or getting a college education. Football just happened to be what got them in position to achieve those goals. Best of luck to Mr. Bailey.
That's respectful. A lesser person would have transferred to a smaller school to play QB but his heart was with LSU with or without football. Great kid
I don't know if I agree that wanting to play/transferring when it's clear he won't, makes him a "lesser person" but you are right, him staying does say a lot.
I wonder if he kind of got pushed out? If I were him, and I knew I wasn't going to see the field, but I was die hard purple and gold through and through, I would stay on the team just to be able to watch the games from the sidelines. Hell, put me on the scout team like Rudy boss, and I'll watch in street clothes.
