Agreed, I think he's a smart guy, everyone heading any major country has to be smart. However, there were a lot of smart people in leadership positions of the nations that started WWI. And those same smart people had ample opportunity to stop it before it really got going and they didn't. They just incrementally made 'smart' moves until they put themselves in a position where stepping back felt impossible. It's not hard to define a possible escalating scenario where Putin thinks his best option is to use a very small nuclear device in 2nd or 3rd tier country because he feels he can't back down and he believes the West will capitulate to any demand to avoid war. I don't think its likely, but I don't think its impossible. And that scares me.
Get your head out of your ass. 2016 will be the warmest on record, just like 2015 was. You're cherry picking data.
Its been hotter before. Its factual. Unless that is to say ice-core measurement is not right. Though, that is the basis for CO2 data. Earth has in fact been hotter. Much hotter. Its also been much colder. It's even in the IPCC report which all the Climate doom mouth breathers cite. Around 125,000 years ago it was warmer and the oceans where higher. Its part of their case for more taxes to stop the temperature from rising. Pimping 2016 as the "hottest on record" isn't really saying much. Its more along the lines of "false" if you believe the 98% of scientist.
Of course the earth has been hotter but it has not been hotter since we've kept records. As I said, the hottest year "on record".
