I don't think it would, but I'm guessing the point Vamp is making, Archie went to Ole Miss in the 60's, when LSU/Ole Miss rivalry was a big time thing. Like one of the local sports radio guys once said "Of course Archie hates LSU, he went to Ole Miss, he's supposed too!"

I humbly submit Gene Stallings. A wonderful humanitarian and all around good guy. Watch this thing go down. We are going to end up with 4 human beings representing the 4 major conferences just to keep the tin foil accusations to a manageable level.

    Oh geez.

You suppose that local sports guy is trying to create a little controversy to get fans a little riled up? [IMG]

I'm glad it hasn't made its way on my forum, but I see a group complaining about our AD recommending Doug Dickey—former UT AD.

One thing that is for certain. I spend more time shaking my head at conspiracy theories now than I ever have. So many with such jaded views...

We should pick 4 rugby coaches from Europe who don't watch football. Then each school in the top ten should have to put together a highlight reel and resume from their season. This would eliminate bias. It may eliminate qualified judges but maybe that's what we need.

In all seriousness, they should have let the BCS poll pick the top 4.

    You mean Lynn Amedee? ;)

I remember him from Jackie Sherrill's days at Miss. State. (part of the only MSU team to make it to ATL for SECCG...you know, way back when UT was good in football :D )

I personally don't think that. I'm one of the I guess few LSU fans that has nothing against any of the Mannings

I can't look or hear about Peyton and not remember his time, and shenanigans, at UT. I still remember his post-game antics in Birmingham in 1996—doubt I'll ever forget those. It's balanced with a reminder he was a kid.

I think Archie would do a good job. If they follow what's been suggested in that no media members are part of the committee does his limited role with CBS exclude him? I suspect it does.

I saw a few mention Staubach. I think that would be a solid choice as well.
