PUNTS-YARDS 4-128 Average Yards Per Punt 32.0 Net Yards Per Punt 27.5 I would be gald to hear an explanation why these numbers were so poor.
All other questionable things in this game I feel can be worked out. However, I am deeply concerned about the ability of our new punter. I understand, first college game and all, but I was not impressed.
Some very gross punting to say the very least. We cannot be giving away field position in such a generous manner. This area of play MUST improve.
Our defense is gonna need every bit of field position they can get...a weak punter will not help at all

It's a clinic that lots of kickers go to gain attention and enhance their skills. As far as we know the coaches were telling him to kick it sky high so no return would be possible. Playing into their conservative philosophy for the evening. I think he'll get better as the season moves along.
When this kid was signed the info on him was that he punted not so much for distance but high punts with great hang time.
I don't want to be too rough on the guy after his first game, but he didn't have distance OR hang time Saturday. Surely he can do better that that. We'll see against Vandy.
I think he kicked 1 or 2 of them about 30 yards on a line. Yeah if he stuck it 38 yards down the field with no chance of return, then I would be fine with that all day long. I hope this isn't all he has to bring to the table. I would think not.
