This is a mess. We should have just sent Jason Bourne to handle it.

I agree with this - just because they revoked citizenship doesn't necessarily mean the paperwork wasn't doctored. But it does show that the government at least respects its laws and I would assume there would be research defending the case to revoke citizenship.

Your logic is faulty because we didn't just happen across a militant Muslim who was firing a machine gun at US soldiers. In that case our soldiers defend themselves. Al-Awlaki has been targeted for years with the only case against him that I can see alleged. I don't buy that allegations by the government are enough to convict an American citizen. American citizens are entitled to due process.

Just because the CIA says Muslim X is a bad guy doesn't mean he is a bad guy. It is shameful how willing you are to wave your rights because the allmighty government alleges something. But we're in a war - and will be to the end of time, so please take these rights and I'll hope I never do anything controversial that would make a government agent want to put me on an extermination list. Protect me. Wah. :bncry:

All I've seen from you is a self-important close-minded attention whore.

Revocation of citizenship has barely happened in the history of the US, but congress has been considering how to make this happen, I think largely in assosciation with the "war" on terrorism. I feel like the US government owes its citzens due process unless they can somehow prove (not just allege) that a citizen has forfeited his rights. That is what I am saying. Obama is abusing the executive powers of the president, IMO, and I believe that is his intent. Which is no different from Bush and makes his whole campaign in 2008 a mf lie.

Can someone please explain what a war is to me? It sounds like you have to complete some kind or paperwork before you can have one. Also what are the objectives of a war?
