You are right, I came off pretty negative, I know it was still the emotion of watching us struggle to win a game I wanted us to dominate with a statement. But, I do think that Saturday’s nights offensive performance will "more than likely" put is in the L column if we show up in the swamp like that in 2 weeks. I feel like we will continue to improve every week, as CLM's teams always do, I guess I was just more than disappointed that I thought this team was much further along than it really is, and Saturday night was the best case scenario of a reality check you can get. We got the W, when had one more ball bounced Auburn's way, we would be discussing the worst case scenario reality check. And, I also agree with someone above, when they said that I am overlooking the affect our injured O-Line is having on this offense, I’ll eat crow on that as well. GEAUX TIGERS
And, Kajun, I'll apologize to you as well, I did overlook the impact that our injured offense line is having on our offense right now, you are 100% correct. I hope we continue to improve, and put this game right there next to the Miss St game last year, where we struggled but prevailed.
It's all good, man. I am all for people speaking their minds. I think we get a pretty good mix of that here, not just sunshine pumpers. We all care about our Tigers and ultimately want the same thing, them to win and look good doing it, lol.
NOT a running QB.... Fraizer Stats this Year vs. Clemson: 9 carries for -9 yards vs. Miss St: 11 carries for 22 yards vs. UL Monroe: 5 carries for 8 yards vs. LSU 6 Carries for -5 yards But when they inserted Wallace in (his 1st game) he had success on three carries right up the middle with 5 yards per attempt. Just looked like we were a little vulnerable when Auburn ran designed QB runs. So, it will be interesting to see how our defense adjust to that statistic against a legit running QB Something that Kyle Frazier is far from. Regardless, Saturday night is in the books, and can only be used as a learning experience, our youngsters & our QB now have their first hostile environment night game on the road behind them, we have some quality film to review for our offense to make improvements on, and hopefully, the coaching staff will tighten up the races in the depth chart and put some pressure on some of these starters who have more talent on the depth chart behind them.
Sure, there is always room for improvement. However, many Tiger fans are complaining their ways through the most dazzling era in the history of LSU football. One day, people who thought Miles was a moron will be wishing he was still coaching here.
I can not believe how bad everyone says our QB's were last year. JL looked great through the first half of the season, until they benched him for JJ. JJ gave us another threat at running the ball. I will admit they frustrated me during the season. To call them horrible is just not right. I do put some of the blame on the coaching we have had on the offensive side of the ball. I believe if we would have had a coach like Jimbo, all the QB's (including Mett) would have been better in the passing department. The receivers would also have benefited greatly. During their tenure we were the best LSU football team, that we have ever been. The game last year in Tuscaloosa was a dead lock. Alabama figured out how to throw the ball effectively against us in the BCS. We still have not figured out how to throw the ball effectively against top defenses.
I think it is so cute you referred to Auburn as a decent football team. Have you watched their previous games this year? They are about as talented as the LSU 2nd-string and that might be stretching it. LSU offense just failed to execute to a large degree during the game. And don't blame it being on the road either, what do you think is going to happen in the Swamp? I do believe the Tigers can fix their problems but if the O-line doesn't step up and Mett doesn't start playing better than it won't be pleasant to watch.
