I actually heard some dipshit mention McCarron for Heisman during the game. Bama beats up 1-2 Florida Atlantic at home and it's Heisman time. LSU beats an SEC rival in their own house and it's how many spots will LSU drop. BTW, LSU sports information must have pissed in a lot of cornflakes because the LSU press this year is abysmal. There has been almost no coverage on the college football shows daily.
The long and short of it is...the sports media thinks Miles is not a good coach. They generally think he is dumb-lucky, or at best, slightly brilliant. But, they do not see him as savvy, intillectual, and genius. I firmly believe that if Saban or a short list of others were coaching LSU, we would still be unbeatable, even with what happened in Auburn. Try to imagine this scenario...Alabama has a bad game, beats a significant rival conference foe who has been in the top of recruiting in the past several years, on the road, extremely hostile environment, strange tumultuous series to date, new QB, ton of injuries, and against a team with basically nothing to lose. Imagine now, members of the media pontificating about how far DOWN Alabama should go in the rankings. Will NEVER NEVER NEVER (and did I mention NEVER) happen. I am an LSU homer, but over the years I have have come to this objective conclusion. So, I have learned to let it roll off the back and use it for my own locker (so to speak).
I bet an SEC team wouldn't drop as far as they did though. Who's ya daddy *cough* I mean, who's the media darling now?
If a few weeks practice and scrimmage against Townson doesn't fix things, LSU will lose to Florida in 2 weeks. And probably South Carolina, maybe even A&M and definitely Alabama. Our defense is good enough to keep us in games but honestly I'd rather have a running QB than that pathetic BS we saw last night. 9-3 season, Chick Fil A bowl vs. Virginia Tech. If Miles/Stud/Krag can't their head out of their ass. Same piss poor pathetic play calling, just screams stubborn, boneheaded, insanity! Mettenberger looked like he has JJ's Decision Making with JL's mobility. He can start by shaving that 1970's porn stash and cutting off the Justin Beiber Haircut and looking more like an SEC QB!
How can we have all of this talent and all these weapons, yet continually we can not develop a passing game!? SMH! And to top it all off, we looked piss poorly prepared, confused, lethargic, and frustrated. As if the entire team was scratching their head saying "why the hell are we not running the plays we practiced all week"??? Why are we NOT making adjustments???? Didn't we learn our lesson in New Orleans last January???? Here we f*cking go again! But last nights game did at least answer one question for us. Why Miles didn't play Mett in the BCSNCG. At least now we know he hasn't proven to be any better back there behind center.
Not 8-4, 9-3. (we drop 1 of 2 to either SC or A&M) And that is only if we do not get some things worked out. Our D is all we have, Special Teams looks less dangerous. I think this D will struggle with a legit running QB as well.
