LSU needs to worry about what impact this loss will have in the human poll I think - the computers will still be "nice" so to speak given our strength of schedule (note that Arky is 8-4, not a .500 team or anything worse). If the humans look at this loss like Lou Holtz, drooling and saying we told you LSU was mortal, then we may have a problem IMO.

I still go back to the brutality that IS the SEC.

I just think when people are casting their ballots and they see a 10-2 LSU team, a 10-2 Georgia team and a 10-2 VTech team, LSU will get the nod. Both losses were in triple OT. I especially can't see someone placing Vtech ahead of LSU since we owned them so soundly earlier in the season.

    We shall see.

LSU is looking great in the computer polls still. If we can win, especially if it's Georgia, LSU will be in the top 2 in the computer polls (behind only tOSU) given the scenario first described in this thread.

I agree. A loss by WV and a win by OK in the Big 12 CG and a win by LSU over GA in the SECCG than LSU may play tOSU in the NCG. Right? Man that is a tall order.

Believe human pollsters will put us at #7 or #8. Computers will probably have us at #5 so the average will put us at #6 or #7. The humans may drop us further after they've digested the offensive carnage (1,000 yards allowed) the last two teams have put on us.

Do you suppose we ought to be hoping for UGA now instead of UT? Granted, the Tigers just need to win, but maybe we need the higher quality win now if we want any hope of getting to the MNC. Thoughts?

Yeah, it will help with both the human polls and computer polls if we beat a red hot Georgia team. Especially if Vtech wins out, we will need all the help we can get. That's the team that worries me the most.

I think Vtech will lose either vs Virginia or in the ACC CG. In this craziest of years, it's only fitting.

Absolutely, if we hold out any hope then we need a convincing win against the highest rated opponent we can get.

I just think it would be cool if UConn wins and we just have that chance next weekend awaiting the Big 12 CG outcome. The Big 12 CG is a night game and plays right after we are done, I am pretty sure.

It would be 2003 all over again.
