Maybe we miss the departed OC and position coaches more than we think. Does not seem the Tigers got any better throughout the year, did not think the VT game would be the best complete game played this year by the Tigers. This time last year they would have beat anybody in the country after starting slow.

Our offense is much better this year without Fisher, and that's saying a whole lot considering how much offensive talent we lost to the draft & the inexperience we have.

What position coaches? The OLine coach? The WR coach? I haven't seen anything wrong with these areas that the last guys could've improved upon.

I would have to agree with you here.
I'll take off my purple sunglasses for one second and say that the team didn't seem to get any better, they played their best football against MSU, VT and MTSU.
If I didn't know better, I'd think that someone else was coaching the tigers, someone whos teams don't seem to improve.
Injuries do play a part but something is definitely not right with the coaches or the program when the red zone defense is last in the NCAA.
Its not injuries then, its some other issues involved.

Now before you homers say that wasn't very good competition.
Thank again, MSU beat some pretty good football teams and VT turned out to be one of the best teams we played all year.
I believe they are still in the top ten last I saw.

Its funny that we were only one play away from being 7-5 or 12-0 or something similar.

Have to make an honest observation here, man I wish I was wrong!:dis:

You are right we did lose 2 WR to the draft.

Is our offense really better or SEC defenses this year not as good as last year? If the CBS announcers can call the play we are going to run when we line up just think of how the opposing coaches now the tendencies.

I saw our offense do better as the season went along...We became a balanced offense and started doing better...Can't say that the difference is the OC...Everybody here wants to blame the coaches, but we have to admit that we had more talent last year...At least offensively we did...The defense was the same, except the safeties...Somehow, I don't think that makes a good difference on how they played.

Ok if we had more talent LAST YEAR, why was THIS YEAR'S team ranked so highly? It can't be that the voters didn't take into account our losing people, because they definitely took that into account when they ranked us ahead of Florida. I think we were overrated all year, frankly. I don't exactly know HOW we did what we did against VT and MSU but maybe we showed how good we were and everyone else we played yesterday figured out how to stop us??? I have to say, in retrospect, that I'd prefer to be lower in rank at the beginning of the year and sort of fly below the radar. (I guess I won't have to worry about that because it's clear we won't be highly ranked next year pre-season.)

Our problem is that Flynn is just a very average QB...probably less than 50% comp percentage. Our OC is as good as anyone in the country, as is our talent. We can't put away teams, because our offense becomes one dimensional once the run is stopped early. Our QB isn't good enough to sustain drives with just 50% comp average. In close games, our defense gets winded because of our offenses lack of sustain drives.
I don't care if he had a great Peach bowl, or even if he wins the SECCG and a Bowl Game. He is just a good backup QB, not a starting QB in the SEC.

I disagree. I think Flynn has played exceptionally well at times...although not all the time. But that's the way the position goes. I really admire his cool demeanor in tough situations. I don't think I've ever seen him with that deer-in-the-headlights look you see on so many other qbs. Not saying he's a Heisman kind of guy, but he's a lot better than you are giving him credit for. Just my 2cents worth. :eek:ldskule:

    Pssst.........our QB too.

I agree with your statement which is why I'd also say he as a very good (Average) qb but not that cut above. Lprimo isn't far off, he has a 55% completion but that's not all on him cause we did have young receivers drop a lot of very catchable balls. I know there are always dropped passes but we had a virus for a few games.

I think some are going in the wrong direction here...
Flynn is a first year starter and probably with his number of snaps game wise could be a sophmore or early junior.
We have had young Wr's also but anytime you have to outscore your opponent it is usually a defensive problem not an offensive problem.
I have very little problems about the offensive, I think they have been decent when you consider the circumstances of young players and injuries.

We've had to outscore every opponent we've played since the Florida game except for La Tech and Ole Miss if memory serves me right.
You all know about our red zone defense and the 4th and ten, Man, I thought we had that Arkansas game wrapped up even though they killed our defense.

I don't know if I agree with people who say our defense is tired or not.
    Convince me?
Yes, we have injuries and people aren't 100% but I've seen plenty of games where the defense plays the whole game.
Take the 1987 Earthquake game, AU vs LSU for example.
You know the story of that game?
