Since yesterday Tiger Forums has been extremely sluggish. It was so slow that for 24 hours I did not think it was working. In fact I started posting on a different forum. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Well, with all of the big news going on in Tiger Land it should come as no shock that everyone has been trying to get on the forum at the same time. This flux eats up bandwith and causes the forum to operate slowly.

its still very sluggish now, and there aren't more than 200 people logged on in the den. we've had more people than that in here without it getting this bad:huh:

I dunno. Maybe people are hitting refresh more than they normally would.

Not sure if it applies here, but my web host allows only so much bandwidth a month. Maybe TF is pretty close or has exceeded that space already, which is why we got error pages and stuff last night, not to mention all the slow loading times today.

Not necessarily a bandwidth problem, server load counts for a lot as well. Depends on whether TF is on a dedicated, semi-dedicated or shared server. If on a shared server TF could be sharing a server with up to as many as 25 or 50 other domains, if this is the case a single domain will start maxing out at around 250 users and then the time-outs, d/b errors can start. But I'd say it's mostly server load, have been watching the number of users over the last 48 hours and it's being pushed.

Actually if you look at the whole site there's close to 500 connected right now.

Servers been loaded up for the last 24 hours. Actually, all things considered it held up pretty well.
