You just posted this in the Den.

Why would you post it in a recruiting forum?

Minter was not selected as the Butkus Award winner. Instead, they gave it to Manti Te'o of Hawaii. He was the "hands down winner," according to Pro Football Weekly, which supervised the 51-person selection panel of coaches, scouts, recruiters and journalists.

The award was presented in-person by Dick Butkus, the award's namesake, in a surprise presentation at Te'o's high school in Hawaii.

Te'o told the Honolulu Advertiser that he narrowed his college choices to five schools: Southern Cal, Notre Dame, UCLA, Stanford, and Brigham Young. Te'o got a visit last week from Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis, BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall and Stanford's Jim Harbaugh. Southern Cal and UCLA have scheduled home visits with him as well.
