I'm also wondering what Arkansas and UGA have done to be ranked ahead of us. Also, puzzling is the never-ending love for Ohio State. TCU @ #3? Hmmm. I doubt it very seriously. Nebraska's an interesting pick right now. They are losing their best defender, and their offense was more anemic than ours last year. What's up their sleeves? Texas A & M ahead of us? Yeah, right.
depending on your criteria for rankings seems like a good pick to me (see below). September 4 Oregon State Arlington, Texas 6:45 p.m. September 11 Tennessee Tech Fort Worth, Texas 6:00 p.m. September 18 Baylor Fort Worth, Texas 3:30 p.m. September 24 SMU Dallas, Texas 7:00 p.m. October 2 Colorado State Fort Collins, Colo. 1:00 p.m. October 9 Wyoming Fort Worth, Texas 2:30 p.m. October 16 BYU Fort Worth, Texas 3:00 p.m. October 23 Air Force Fort Worth, Texas 7:00 p.m. October 30 UNLV Las Vegas, Nev. 7:00 p.m. November 6 Utah Salt Lake City, Utah 2:30 p.m. November 13 San Diego State Fort Worth, Texas 3:00 p.m. November 27 New Mexico Albuquerque, N.M. 3:00 p.m.
I understand their schedule is hardly as daunting as, say, ours. However, they pulled off one undefeated (regular) season with a similar schedule, then couldn't manage to seal the deal against Boise State. Color me unconvinced.
it seems that you think the rankings are reflective of how good a team is. i think most are reflective of where they will be ranked at the end of the season. now, i think thats horse****, but you too often read about a teams schedule in the pollster's explanation.
With this new age understanding of the little guy, these TCU and Boise State's are going to break through this BCS mess sooner rather then later. These polls are reflecting the "perception is reality" very well. Just run the table it's going to happen. After all, I still remember 1984, the undefeated BYU Cougars played in something called the holiday bowl against a Michigan team sporting an intimidating record of 6-5. When the dust seattled from this epic battle, BYU made history as NC. Who knew you could get that done in San Diego?
Only now, you can't. An undefeated BYU would have to beat an undefeated or one-loss big boy these days. What I see happening, is a BYU, Utah, Boise St., etc making the BCSCG only to get trounced and remind everybody why we never let them to the grownup table before.
Yep, and spawning the perception that TCU is a preseason # 3 only perpetuates the myth they belong. So who's the deserving team that sits at home this time while we watch this train wreck?
I agree. Hopefully it happens in a year where there isn't another clearly deserving team. If it's gonna happen, might as well mitigate the damage.
R Kansas has the best returning QB in the SEC. If they have improved their defense they will be a threat to beat anybody
