WVU at #5? That'll be a nice touch on our resume at the end of the season.

Personally, I'm ok with flying under the radar. Although it could hurt come the end of the season, I think that having us ranked anywhere from the mid teens to 25 is ok. This team is going to come out and surprise some folks. They all know the talent is there, but due to our lack of being a killer over the last 2 yrs they are unsure, at this point, as to just how good we might be. If we start the season off strong we will jump up the ranks rather quickly. For a change, even though none of our opponents are top tier SEC, the competition is tougher and not a couple of cupcake games. Having 2 ranked BCS schools in our 1st 5 games, and a couple of SEC schools, will definitely be a strong feather in our resume. Should we start off 5-0 we should be in the top 10 by game 6. Conversely should we start off poorly we will drop out of the top 25 like a hot potato.

These preseason polls should carry a disclaimer that they're only valid through August, 2010.

you got that right, with a totally green qb and an unknown D.

the only thing i can really point at in their favor is the schedule. its about as easy as UGA's schedules get. no tough ooc (except for the obligatory GaTech, which is home) and they get MSU and Arky from the W. but its still a tough sched. id have em around 25.

Another blogger who is laughing right now because he has pissed so many people off into reading his garbage.

However, that list has us playing 5 teams ranked ahead of us. So maybe it's not that bad after all, if the AP comes out and looks like that, it sets us up to make a run at a championship. The ball is in our court boys and girls.

How about them having Texas at 18, and Florida at 4. Texas loses McCoy and that bad ass safety, Florida loses just about everyone.

I'm not understanding the love for Arkansas and Georgia this season. Ole Miss could be ranked higher.

I'm not concerned with LSU starting low. With the schedule we play including 2 ranked OOC opponents and 3 or 4 ranked SEC opponents our strength-of-schedule will be way high. We play three frigging top-5 teams on this list! When the BCS comes out, all we have to do is win to move steadily up this chart.

It's a schedule made for a championship run. What LSU needs is for a championship quarterback to emerge.
